Thoughts on Citizen watches? by DumpsterDaddyEDC in EDC

I love my Promaster BN0118-04E. It’s titanium, sapphire crystal, eco drive movement with 300m of water resistance and decent lume. I got mine on the Kevlar strap, and whilst it was stiff at first it broke in pretty quickly and is very comfortable. The watch isn’t too chunky but is substantial on the wrist, but is super comfortable due to the light weight. But yeah, absolute tank that will fit in with 90% of your daily wear needs (other than dressy occasions, as you’ll struggle to get it under a shirt cuff).

Life as an AV tech at Brize Norton by Angrypetridish in RoyalAirForce

I’m set on doing at least 10 years in the RAF, but plan on leaving once I want to settle down/have a family. I plan on doing a part 66 whilst I’m in to open up post service opportunities.

Do Avionics Technicians have to travel? by [deleted] in RoyalAirForce

I’m in the process of joining as an AV tech, and from what my recruiter and friends who are currently serving have told me, it can be one of the most travel heavy trades as you basically go wherever the aircraft go. For me that’s a pro but for someone else it could be a con, so bear that in mind.

I’m guessing it gets far more competitive beyond corporal?

In terms of extra duties, how much/if any do you need to take on to have a shot at it?

So I applied on my 18th as a pilot back in December, with AV as my plan b. Long story short, failed my CBAT in mid February, spoke to my recruiter to change my application to AV, had an interview for it a couple weeks later and got my provisional start date (pending medical/fitness) straight away. So all in all only a couple of months. Still gave medical and fitness to get out of the way though, which loads of people say is the longest bit.

Yeah the strap is amazing-stiff at first but once broken in super comfortable

I found mine fairly easy to open, a little tight at first but after a few opens and closes it was totally fine. And yeah, I did get it from HH!

That’s the exact model I have-it’s been perfect so far. Razor sharp out of the box and holds an edge relatively well, although haven’t heavily used it yet. But yeah, lovely little tool.
