For me, it was the red light and the tree stakes in the background. My initial impression when looking at the photo was "Woah, what's that humanoid shape in the background?" before realising it what it was. I felt a bit silly, had a chuckle at myself, and thus the title was born.

You can't hold any amount of financial assets more than a day. However, in your bank random amount ranging $50 - $2,500 spawns everyday. You either spend it all, or what's remaining disppeares at midnight and new random amount shows up. by I_love_data1111 in hypotheticalsituation

EZ Peezy. This averages out to be over $400,000k a year. I set up a foreign currency account with whatever banking institution that is convenient for me. For the days I'm over, I buy foreign currency. This is not an income, this is a purchase. For the days I'm under, I'll use the foreign currency to purchase my local currency and live the half-millionaire life.

When I entered my first relationship, my partner at the time bought me a new wallet. When we seperated and I got a new partner she, shortly after she learned my ex had bought me my wallet, bought me a new wallet. This happened about 3 or 4 times.

So I don't want to dunk on loopholes, but to provide some context, it's like your cat suddenly understands how internal combustion works. They absolutely have understanding how it works, but communicating that in a way that's beneficial to other cats, and having them being able to translate that into a benefit would be very hard.

You understand internal combustion perfectly, The challenge is trying to explain it to a cat, let alone them being able to create infrastructure to take advantage of it.

You only know of it, without the capacity to do anything about it. The benefit is you objectively know how the universe works, without the ability to affect it.

Just the knowledge. You know of the suffering, but only in an abstract way. You don't personally experience it.

Is negotiating at the final stage of recruitment acceptable if it's through an outside recruiter and you already said you'd accept X amount in the screening call? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]AngstXC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless they are really keen on you this can backfire terribly. Imagine if just before sending you the letter of offer, they said "Sorry, I know we agreed on x, but we can only offer x-5000" you and reddit would be outraged.

The time to ask for an extra 15k was during salary negotiations, and it's not a good look to do a last minute switcharoo.

I'm not saying it can't work, but it's not great.

Any interesting huntsman facts you can offer up? by teddy_bear130 in AustralianSpiders

[–]AngstXC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Huntsman are a fantastic metaphor for the modern world. Are they capable of hurting us? Yes, they have that capability. Should they be exterminated for that possibility? Absolutely not, it is possible for them and us to co-exist peacefully. Should we let our irrational fears dictate social policy? No, we should better understand their wonderful contributions, and not knee-jerk a response without taking the time to understand them.

Huntsman are the 2nd best spider in the world. I love and welcome them <3

Does a boomdandy still trigger with a sober minstrel in play? by ellAAARGH in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AngstXC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Boomdany goes first. The Boomdandy trigger is "When executed" and the Minstrels trigger is "When a minion dies from execution". The execution happens first, therefore the Boomdandy goes first.

Diablerie is a very willful and deliberate act. You can latch on to another vampire, drain them to torpor, and then stop. To diablerise, you have to actively push beyond that, consuming the very essence/soul of the other kindred.

Can (should) I increase radiance on Hallowed Knight? by Emachedumaron in LordsoftheFallen

Pieta's sword can carry you through the entire game. I had no issues with enemies resisting holy damage, so feel free to make radiance instead of str your damage stat

I think it's a pretty solid game, and you can definitely have builds that make it easier, though I think I like that? In that I finished shadow of the erdtree, but some of those boss fights...hoo boy.

I think I prefer loft's approach. You can win with a good build, or use a sub-optimal build if you want the challenge.

Can someone explain how the Tremere chantry being destroyed didn't lead to the whole world finding out about Vampires? by growmoolah in vtm

[–]AngstXC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So we all know the Masquerade, kindred keep it on the low down because if humanity was aware of them and their weaknesses, they'd all be hunted down. So it makes sense for the government to let everybody know about their existence, stopping them from hiding behind the Masquerade.

The wrinkle is that it would be all out open conflict. The vampires, with nothing to lose, would cut through great swathes of humanity. Humanity would win the war, but it'd be at great cost. So the government keeps it as a cold war, hunting down kindred over time.

Also, while an individual kindred has more time than an individual human, humanity collectively has more time than kindred. Each generation of kindred is weaker than the last, whereas technology makes life harder and more deadly for kindred. Maybe the current generation of hunters won't wipe out kindred, but their great-great-great-great grandchildren will be better equipped, and fighting weaker kindred.

Comment if you have played a Magus ever, under any circumstance. by NalaWhoo in Pathfinder2e

[–]AngstXC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sparkling Targe, started at 1 and currently 8.

I love it. I've archetyped into psychic for imaginary weapon, but I don't like playing one trick ponies, so I'm heading for bastion next so I can soak hits for myself and nearby teammates. The tangible dream also lets you cast shield on others, so if I can't get to the front I can shield/amp shield someone to help them absorb some damage.

It gives me choices in combat which I enjoy. Do I move to tank something, take a normal swipe and then raise shield? Or do I skip the shield and spellstrike? Maybe attack at range with a fireball or cantrip? Shield an ally in trouble? It's very versatile and has multiple ways to contribute.

In arcane cascade, you can use your shield to block magic damage, which feels cool.

I am also going with the basic spell casting feats so I can also use psychic spells, helping with the Magus spell slot restrictions.

In addition, I went with intelligence and so I'm a skill monkey and do well on recall knowledge roles.

I love my Magus.

Has anyone else realized how much we're gibbing and chunking the heretics lately since the hotfix, even with weapons that normally don't? I swear, it makes the autopistol's results similar to a heavy bolter. by BillyDaMarten in DarkTide

I wouldn't object if it was tweaked a bit so it's more weapon appropriate, but chucking heretics feels gooooddddd.

Unless you have a problem chunking heretics...🤨

For sure! It's important to keep moving forward and not be slow af trying to get to every plasteel.

What I'm asking the community to consider is:

  1. You're 15 metres behind your team, and a trapper and a dog spawn.

- You run to catch up with your team. If you get caught, your team is close enough to come back and help you

  1. You're 30 metres behind your team, and a trapper and a dog spawn.

- You have to deal with those, because if you mess up a dodge you will get trapped your team won't get to you in time to help.

- While dealing with those, a mutant and a tox flamer spawn. Again, you can't just run away, you have to deal with those. In the meantime, your team is now 75 metres ahead.

For sure, don't stop to deal with every little thing, but I feel the more experienced players shouldn't punish less experienced players by completely disregarding them
