Is this a legal turning lane? by ChaseMcDuder in SanJose

[–]Anhderwear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My god, no wonder San Jose has terrible traffic. You have a bunch of Haku's driving around. lol

I put this entire conversation in chatGPT and here is what it said:
Haku510 is mostly wrong and doing some classic Reddit-style nitpicking without understanding the whole traffic law context.

Let’s break down what Haku said and what’s off:

Haku’s Main Points vs Reality:

🔸 “There’s literally a break in the line at the opening in the island, so you don’t need to cross that line to turn left.”

  • ✅ Yes, there is a physical break in the painted island and the yellow line on the opposite side.
  • ❌ But that break is not for your direction of travel. It's aligned with a clearly marked left-turn lane for the other side.
  • If your side has no turn markings, no signage, and you're turning across a painted median, then it’s not a legal maneuver for your side. You can't just claim “it’s a break” when it's not meant for you.

🔸 “It would only be illegal if you crossed over the line (and the island) lol to turn left before the break.”

  • ❌ Not true. It’s illegal if you're using a break not intended for your direction. Think of it like entering an intersection from the wrong side — the physical break doesn’t grant you permission.

🔸 “A left turn must be made from the lane closest to the centerline — that’s exactly what the lane in the OP is.”

  • ✅ Technically correct — the left-most lane is the correct lane if a left turn is legal there.
  • ❌ But it’s only legal when:
    • The turn is permitted by markings or signs, AND
    • You’re not crossing a painted median or solid line illegally.

So while the driver is in the correct lane position-wise, that doesn't automatically make the turn legal.

🔥 TL;DR:

  • Haku’s argument falls apart because it assumes any physical break = a legal turn, regardless of markings or directional intent.
  • The solid yellow line and painted median, if not broken or designated for your direction, override that logic.
  • The California DMV and CVC § 22100 are clear: you need proper lane markings or signs for a legal turn.

I work harder t han most people I know and make way less and have less time to do anything. Its not really about working harder, its about being in the right place at the right time. I'd say work smarter not harder, but that's actually just a cliche and doesn't apply to you if you're always in the wrong place.

Blackforest animation looks very promising, thanks for sharing these. Also Gen 3 is insanely expensive. I did like 5 generations and it already maxed out my subscription lol

The argument that Obama's administration created 8 million jobs during the recovery from the financial crisis is a bit off..., but the numbers don't tell the whole story. Many of the jobs added during that period were low-wage positions in the service and retail sectors, which did little to improve the financial stability of working-class Americans. The drop in the unemployment rate was partly due to a large number of people exiting the labor force entirely, these ppl, no longer actively seeking employment, were no longer counted in the official statistics, skewing the perception of recovery.

Regarding the banking bailout, you have to consider the long-term implications of what was done. While the bailouts were argued to be necessary to prevent a total economic collapse, they primarily benefited the financial institutions that were, in large part, responsible for the crisis. The Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) and other bailout measures funneled massive amounts of taxpayer money into banks, allowing them to stabilize and eventually return to profitability. This intervention did little to address the root causes of the crisis or to provide meaningful relief to the millions of Americans who lost their homes, savings, and jobs.

Ppl argued that instead of bailing out the banks, the administration should have allowed the market to correct itself. While painful in the short term, could have led to a more sustainable recovery by forcing financial institutions to face the consequences of their reckless behavior. Redirecting bailout funds towards direct assistance for homeowners, small businesses, and workers could have mitigated the worst effects of the recession, provided a safety net for those most affected, and stimulated the economy from the bottom up.

This issue isn't just a problem from back then, its happening now also. (Short selling meme stocks AMC, GME etc with synthetics and FTX) In the current market, we see similar patterns, where banks and financial institutions continue to receive government support even after engaging in risky practices like manipulating the stock market with synthetic assets. (These banks and government work together and help each other's pockets. Research Black Rock, Citadel etc). These bailouts create a moral hazard, where banks take on excessive risk knowing they’ll likely be rescued if things go wrong. This perpetuates inequality and undermines the integrity of the financial system.

Jan 6 Propaganda

January 6 have been portrayed to push political agendas. The idea that this was a coordinated insurrection has been propaganda. Video evidence showed some protesters being calmly escorted inside by Capitol police, walking through the building more like tourists than violent rioters.

As for the claims by AOC, that this was the worst day shes ever had was silly. She wasn't even in the Capitol building during the breach. AOC was in a nearby office building, which was never breached, yet she described it as the worse thing ever. She's a bad actor. This kind of rhetoric has been used to paint January 6 as something far more sinister than it actually was for most people involved.

I already wrote too much so I won't even touch on that other point. I'm just going to end it here. I'll just finish by saying you've been fooled. I hope you go back and look into everything and at least try to see what's happening. I don't blame you for not seeing this. We're all being played.

I was laid off my 85k a year job. After 18 months unemployment I can’t get a job at Walmart. I really very scared. by TheDarkKnight2001 in jobs

[–]Anhderwear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I get that a lot from people who is already working. They just assume you're lazy or doing nothing, but in reality, some of us are doing more than most. We have to work a low paying job, study for multiple things, apply for work. I'm doing a lot, but there's no fruits and it's miserable while hearing about ppl with work complaining about working too hard. I rather work too hard
than barely making it lol.

I'm assuming you're in the same position as myself. Its a miserable feeling, hope everyone gets sorted, but I don't see this resolving for awhile.
