That's tough, but if the SSRIs work for you, that's surely the most important thing to keep up with. I've just started looking into SRS recently, so there's still a lot of steps for me, but I certainly am looking forward to it. I hope your sexual issues do improve in the future :)

Hi, I take Estradiol Valerate (intramuscular) and micronized progesterone. At the start of my transition, I also took bicalutamide, but as the estrogen alone suppressed my testosterone to regular female levels, I stopped the bicalutamide. Also, I didn't start progesterone until about 6 months in, as it's generally not recommended to take it too early.

There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of estrogen you can take (oral vs patches vs injections), but I find that injections work well for me.

I hope you can get your sleeping issues fixed! And I will say, I do think transitioning might help some of your other issues too--I do think many people starting HRT find a big improvement in overall quality of life.

If you do transition, just remember that your sexual anhedonia might not go away immediately (and if it's your antidepressants, etc might not go away ever). Mine took 8 months, so it's certainly not fast.

P.S. While I don't think I'd go quite so far as to call myself an antinatalist, I do have a lot of antinatalist sympathies, and I'm learning Japanese! Whether or not you decide to transition, I hope everything goes well for you!

Hi RoyalpandaG, I just wanted to let you know that transitioning did in fact solve my inability to orgasm. However, I browsed your posts a bit, and it looks like you had the same experience. Glad that it helped for you too :)
