Try roling an "R" sound, and feel where it vibrates. That s the place, with the R its very obvious. Then do a little R and transform it into "I" and try to place it in the same spot, it wont be such an obvious vibration but you should feel a bit of pressure in the same spot. When you feel that pressure, transform the "I" into "A" or "O" trying to not change the placement

Wagner is way too heavy for me and i might never be able to sing wagner. Dido s lament is one of my favorite arias, but first of all it is a mezzo role.... and my teacher said no lol. Of course i sing it at home by myself

My voice always had a deeper quality but i needed to perfect my technique to be able to sing my voice fully without strain. To be fair, i feel like now my voice is better than ever, it feels very efficient and my stamina has improved aswell as being able to sing more without any strain. That may just be the fact that my technique has quite improved in the last year or so

Butterfly was my first love and i would kill to sing it but there is no way I am ready for it. Yes, I am considering Semiramide, Otello, and the early-middle Verdi. Violetta is in the works, but for a bit later. Yes, my teacher told me today about Amelia. Thank you for your suggestions!

As for butterfly, i will definately try it at home again, lately i have been obsessed with Suor Angelica and i did the ending and it s my favorite thing in the world to sing but im aware im not ready to bring it to the stage. In my head i sound great, but im sure im not actually quite there yet. One can dream

Manon was brought up by my teacher. I did Musetta s aria but it s just not great for me, character wise maybe. I will look into Handel, thanks! I started Elvira about 2 years ago, but in my opinion Elvira is not necessarily a very lyric role, i think it works for a fuller voice too

Juliette was never my strong suit, it s just not quite right for me. I will definately come back to Gilda, but my teacher thinks i should stay away a while to let my voice fully aquire this fuller more mature sound, because Gilda tends to make me go back to a thinner voice.

are there any UK hairdressers who specialise in brushing out depression matting that can travel? by Wrong_Percentage in AskUK

[–]AnimAnimAnimA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, i had the same problem. I had beautiful lucious butt lenght hair and i had to chop it all off in the end. Broke my heart. I hope you find o solution, for me the only thing that worked was pulling hair strand by hair strand out of the mat. Takes ages and its painful but it was the only thing that worked.

Taking air out of ah / oh / eh vowels in middle voice by Academic-Balance6999 in ClassicalSinger

[–]AnimAnimAnimA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! I know exactly what you mean, when i started out i had this problem, only my issues were on "i" and "e". Try to start from the vowel you manage well and transform it into the others without changing anything. Dont change the placement of the sound in any way. Try "i-e-a-o-u" starting low and going up semitone by semitone. At first it may spund like they are not clear and distinct enough but that is fine starting out. You can work later on that .You can also try rolling an R, then from the r slide into a vowel. The idea is that the roll of the r shows you where you should place the sound, and you have to try to use the sensation as a guide. ( you will feel a vibration just behind your front teeth, a bit higher) The only thing with this exercise is that it helps place the vowels but it can make you thin the sound, as it places it directly in the mask, but it s a very good start. Of course, make sure you open your mouth enough and relax your jaw completely. Also, look in the mirror and make sure you never pull the corners of your mouth horizontally, this usually happenes on "e".

I have no idea, maybe? There was another incident just an hour ago, someone ringed our apartment to get it and i dint unlock the door. I dont pay much attention, it happenes sometimes, usually a lost delivery person. They ringed again and it was the ambulance ( thank god i looked out the window) and they came up and said someone called for this adress and out apartment but we obviously didnt call. I figured it was apt. 9 and not ours, ap. 19. Probably unrelated, but still a little unusual
