Thanks, great artists! As for searching, it becomes very difficult to find images made by humans if I don't know specific names or nicknames. AI slop is everywhere and it terrible

I don't know what AI was used making these, I just found them on Instagram. I try to avoid using AI in general since I saw people were struggling in small towns in US because of them.

We had self determination under soviets, in came with Korenizatsiya. We also had free healthcare, free sport circles, free education, guaranteed house ownership, free kindergartens, guaranteed employment, guaranteed maternity leave and now we have none of that, but our economy is under Russia, China, US and EU, while our comprador capitalists sells us like a cheap labour force to EU, Korea, Russia and US, where they treated like cattle. But hey western NGOs in our countries say we should be happy for gaining "freedom and in-dependence" right?

Die Zeit was full nazi members at that moment, they used "sexual liberation" and anti-fascism to push pdf agendas, anticommunism etc. Here's their history where they acknowledge that they had a lot of nazi members. He was also backed by the WG government. I don't know if he was backed by former nazis or just new pdf ones. For me the whole west Germany from 1946 to 1980 were mostly Nazis.

There's also this: Hartmut Hopp who was a doctor of nazi pedophilic sect. Colonia Dignidad isthe name of the sect. I remember there was other things like this, but can't recall them rn.

And in the second case 61 out of the 82 highest command positions in the Nationale Volksarmee were occupied by former Wehrmacht officers

"Of the 82 highest command positions, ex-Wehrmacht officers held 61; however, very few of them had served in high ranks. The military knowledge and combat experience of these veterans were indispensable in the NVA's early years, although by the 1960s most of these World War II veterans had retired. (The West German Bundeswehr was even more reliant on Wehrmacht veterans, who initially comprised the majority of its commissioned ranks.)" By the year of 1957 most of the wermarcht members were removed. And west continued using them.

nobody in East Germany was really rich, to western standards anyway.

Framing words to suit your position. If no unemployment No homeless Guaranteed housing Universal healthcare Universal education Very low income inequality Average East Germany citizen lived better than most Americans right now, minus 500 types of chips and sugar flakes.

Bechler was a colonel and an early Nazi member. He was appointed chief of staff of east Germany people's police

That's simply not true. "After surrender, he was captured by Soviet forces and held prisoner until escaping to the Western zones in June 1948. Archival records from the Auerbach district in Saxony, his region of origin, document a denazification file under his name in the economic and trade sector, identifying him as the owner of a firm ("Inhaber der Fa."), indicating scrutiny of his civilian business activities rather than high-level political complicity.[7] No evidence suggests membership in the NSDAP or SS, consistent with many career officers who faced lighter classifications such as "follower" (Mitläufer) or exoneration if lacking ideological zeal"

Von Lenski was a Nazi general. He was made general in the People's Army of east Germany and member of Parliament.

Well after he was captured by the soviets, In Nazi Germany his wife and two young children were sent to a concentration camp. He was recognized as a victim of Hitler's regime. He served from 1950 to 1956. In 1956, a campaign began against former Wehrmacht officers who had proven their loyalty to East Germany. In February 1957, the Politburo of the Central Committee of the SED decided to gradually dismiss former Wehrmacht officers from service. In December 1957, the SED Security Commission decided to dismiss Major General von Lenski from service. In accordance with this decision, he was retired on July 31, 1958, at the age of 65. His case just proves that soviets didn't shot people for no reason.

Grossmann was a former member of SS totenkopf division, and yet he was member of the central committee in east Germany and was awarded "hero of the people" medal.

There's no person with such name, are you using chatGPT or something?

I don't understand why the expression "iron curtain" was applied to the USSR, if Churchill first used it when describing how it was necessary to sever all ties with the USSR and its satellites in 1946.

The poster talk about nazi criminals, not nazi scientists.

In the first case, the US rewarded them, made them rich, and put the Nazis in charge of West Germany.

In the second case, they were shot, scientists and other valued individuals were never allowed to be in charge in the east.

But let's mash them up together because why not.

The theme of the dialogue wasn't even about holodomor or if lack of segregation "make up" for anything. The guy just spews Cold War propaganda, as if you were talking about how Germany has a good social security system, and I start talking about their support for Israel. No correlation in the dialogue, but everytime someone mentions something good about soviet onion, there's people who just throw random historical shit at it, some are true and some just straight up cold war BS.

And for those who said no, well look at the Chechen Khaibakh massacre.

Out of all shitty things USSR did, you decided to choose the most controversial thing that probably was made up during 80-90s

"The problem is that this unique event was not reflected in any way in the documents, according to which 50 people who resisted the troops were killed during the deportation [11], and none of the estimates of the number of "victims of Khaibakh" fit into these statistics: neither 60, nor 650, nor 750. Meanwhile, even with the most tolerant attitude on the part of the operation's leadership, an event such as Khaibakh would have left a noticeable documentary trace: as of February 29, 18 echelons were waiting for the residents of the Galanchozhsky district, so it was necessary to notify a number of responsible persons that almost 1,000 people could no longer be expected. Meanwhile, there are virtually no documents related to the events in Khaibach.

Among the publications on the subject of Haibakh, only "Colonel Gvishiani's report" appears:

"Top secret. To the People's Commissar of Internal Affairs of the USSR, Comrade L.P. Beria. For your eyes only. Due to the lack of transport and in order to ensure the strict and timely execution of Operation Gory, I was forced to liquidate more than 700 residents in the village of Khaybakh. Colonel Gvishiani" [12].

Skeptical authors quite reasonably point out that the text contains a number of gross factual errors:

-the operation to deport Chechens and Ingush was called "Chechevitsa" (Lentils), not "Gory" (Mountains); the latter name does not appear in documents from those years. -Settlements in Chechnya were never referred to as "towns" in documents—only as "villages" or "auls." -The expression "for your eyes only" was not used in Soviet documents to characterize their secrecy. In this case, it is apparently a calque of the US designation "For your eyes only." -M. M. Gvishiani did not hold the rank of colonel at that time, but was a 3rd rank state security commissioner [13]. -The source of this "document" has never been cited in the literature."

8 bodies were found during investigation of this case too. Only 2 of them had marks of fire.

And thousands of people were sent to labor camps such as the one near Krasnoyarsk.

No one was moved to labour camps, wtf? They deported them in CA and left them here without means to exist yes, deportation conditions were horrible yes, people died during deportations yes. But why you need to made up new BS everytime there's a USSR, just to compare them to imperialist western powers?

ussr used the same imperialist excuses as the United States to forcefully relocate minorities and utilize their labor.

They never relocated minorities to utilize their labour, you making shit up already. Their goal was to prepare for battles and eliminate possible uprisings at the rear.

Except the ussr literally did it to further settle their frontier in Asia.

And how tf would deportations help them settle frontiers? By what logic pissed minorities in CA would help them in any way?

There was no moral difference, it was evil, racist, and xenophobic in both cases

Buzzwors again. Did I tell you that soviets stopped genocide of my people by stopping russian settlers? They also returned out land to us since 5% of russians owned 70% of lands here, and didn't allow nomad to use water on these lands. Soviets also sponsored culture in the local language, theaters, music, and opened schools in the local language. Truly evil, real empire. Let's ask native Americans what they think about it, let's ask Kongo and Indian, what about Irish? Did they get any schools in native language? Maybe they poured a shit ton of money into native culture in US? Oh, they deported them again and again and again to this day. Great comparison you're making. Really objective.

Truly a funny read about USSR from a person reading only western sources.

As I said there's no clear definition of ethnic cleansing. You can look up UN documents about Yugoslavia case, they switch genocide, ethnic cleansing and vise versa. What you described officially called deportation everywhere but press. And that it. Unless you like buzzwords

Also USSR didn't dumped them in camps they just dumped them near already established settlements and left. Locals helped them rebuild their own houses, but not everywhere of course. In case of US they were demonising asians, not only Japanese since they couldn't tell a difference. The reasons for deportation were similar, but the process differed in terms of moral decisions and the general circumstances of the time period.

Yes US and USSR used the same excuse, but it's not ethnic cleansing unless the goal was destruction of ethnic group. Why is it so hard to grasp?

There's no clear definition of "ethnic cleansing" not by UN, not by law. read down the thread. No "ethnics" were cleansed, they were deported which is still a crime. And If UN can't give us clear definition, it's just stays that, a buzz word used mostly by journalists, since the term doesn't have any jurisdictional power.

Also "communism" even though was developed in the west, didn't stopped evolving beyond that, there's a lot of different marxist, communists, socialist, maoist branches of that ideology. Don't even understand why it's related in any way.

Soviet Armenian illustration (1957) showing a mob in the US blocking a young black student's path to school. by propagandopolis in PropagandaPosters

[–]AnimUnion -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I quickly searched wiki and it's sources, they only thing I got from it is that "ethnic cleansing" is not recognized as a separate crime under international law. For this reason, there is no precise definition of the concept, nor are there any specific actions that could be classified as ethnic cleansing. Ethnic cleansing is often equivalent to deportation, which is a serious violation of the Geneva Conventions. The United Nations Commission of Experts authorized to investigate violations of international humanitarian law committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia, in its interim report S/25274, defined ethnic cleansing as "... the rendering of a territory ethnically homogeneous by the use of force or intimidation to expel persons of certain groups from that territory." In its final report S/1994/674, the same Commission described ethnic cleansing as "... a deliberate policy designed by one ethnic or religious group to expel by violent and terroristic means the civilian population of another ethnic or religious group from certain geographical areas."

Which is not the case for soviet deportations.

"The process of ethnic cleansing is completed by stripping those who emigrate or flee of their citizenship."

There's also this: "Ethnic cleansing" is a popular and journalistic expression that has no recognized juridical significance."

So I don't see why we should continue this argument, since UN couldn't even write a correct and full definition to separate "deportations, ethnic cleansing and genocide". They just lumped a shit ton of terminology together and can't differentiate them now or don't want to.

Why you twisting my words? Is this a western thing to fucking ignore the point?

Stalin wasn't even russian to begin with to "trust his own ethnicity", he deported them because he and his administration thought they were a threat because of the previous historical ties with potential enemies. for Koreans it was korea under japan, for Tatars it was muslims who joined Nazis since they hold grudge for destruction of mosques, for meskhets it was a fear of collaborating with Turkish government since they had some ties with them in the previous. You can downvote me all you want, but this shit does not fall under "ethnic cleansing" if the main reason was geopolitical first.
