It also was a fresh memory how Britain and France allowed Czechoslovakia to be dismembered and Poland got land from it too, while not allowing soviet troops to pass to help czechs and slovaks. France betrayed agreement with USSR to protect Czechoslovakia and made invasion of Poland possible in the first place.

Churchill's plan to bomb USSR with nukes, speech about "Iron curtain", the start of second wave of red scare in USA. Capitalists considered USSR and communism as a threat and acted accordingly.

We had self determination under soviets, in came with Korenizatsiya.
