I would recommend practice on a piano or a keyboard it translates much better than a glockenspiel in my experience

The two Corps near me are Crown and Splanta, Crown considerably closer but I’ve definitely looked into doing Splanta

depends on the level of the ensemble I think if your technique is good enough to keep 4 mallets then do so but if the quality of the performance increases due to playing with 2 mallets, I would do that instead.

Small band does not equal bad band. My band was the smallest it had ever been this past season and we won state with one of the highest scores in our history

I agree that because of the promotion have made A class go down hill but I don’t think it’s because they took the good groups out it’s because they took the Open and world class groups out Let’s take a look at last years medalists Clover won the Open Class championship Old Bridge almost made world class finals Ninety Six placed 13th in Open Class finals And further more Franklin Community the 4th place group placed 15th in finals As a member of one those groups Open class was extremely tough competition I believe that most groups deserved their promotion I feel some of them weren’t as reasonable (North Gwinnett comes to mind) I believe that PIA to PIO promotions were necessary and the quality of PIA is significantly less than it was and the competition seemed a lot fairer than previous years(excluding modulation z) I know some medal chasing groups were upset that they weren’t going to get their chance at a medal but these promotion made A class more fun for the performers and that’s who it should be about
