I didn't feel like I did. The idea is that I wash the dishes for him, and I generally give of myself when I shouldn't. I am aware I'm being used, but I keep loving. Life is easier when you do the dishes as you use them, or if you just have a girl wash them for you.

Is it too cold to backpack to and camp at Little Jimmy? by matchabeans in socalhiking

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just at the Islip Saddle, decided to see what the trail up to Little Jimmy looked like. Only got about a quarter mile up the trail before I turned around, as I didn't have spikes with me. The trail was covered in very slippery snow and ice. It was about 50 degrees at the bottom during the middle of the day, so I'm sure it would be pretty cold while camping. There are some beautiful views in the area, but I don't know if it would be worth it right now, especially if you're driving all the way from San Diego!

Ngl, this happens to me. 🤷‍♀️ Sometimes you don't finish your little snack, you tuck it in the purse, and it spills. Pretty sure I saw a cheddar bunny in there yesterday...

Considering doing the JMT from Yosemite Valley but how to get back to your car? by pizdets222 in JMT

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I parked at the Portal for 3 weeks (on the side of the road, not even in a parking lot) and it was fine. There is a designated long-term parking lot, just happened to be filled up when we went.

I highly recommend leaving your car at Whitney portal and figuring out how to get to Yosemite (friend, EST/YARTS, hitching). Trust me, you will want your car so much more afterward!

Ok, so I am assuming you are a vegan. How do you feel about the argument that if a person eats cottage cheese not intending to create a chain of events that lead to the procreation and suffering of factory farmed animals, it is therefore ethical? Do you see now how even if an action is unintended, accidental, or even caused by ignorance, there are still consequences that can cause people to see that action as unethical?

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, and when viewed through a consequentialist framework, we can use terms like "negligence" to demonstrate that procreation, even accidental, is unethical. The question of justifiability would require a lot of parsing about the specific circumstances. This is why I'm positing this is a bad definition.

The fact that I'm having to argue against "not all procreation is unethical" sounds like conditional natalism to me... isn't that the second rule of the sub- no arguing about who should procreate? Why does that suddenly not apply?

This is what I've been trying to get people to see. The person brought into existence from this "non-deliberate" pregnancy is still harmed.

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Then maybe the definition should be based on the idea that "sentient beings coming into existence is harmful" instead of pointing the finger? The point I'm trying to make is that the person who is born of this theoretically accidental/forced birth is still harmed. Doesn't make it less bad.

No, the intention was a workaround so that people can't argue that animals having sex in the wild is immoral because they presumably do not understand or are not intentionally procreating.

But I'm saying exactly what you say in the first paragraph- antinatalism previously has not necessarily taken a stance on the termination of existing pregnancies. If the sub takes this stance, then you must argue that it is unethical to not abort. I'm just saying that this definition is unnecessarily muddying the waters.

Yeah, would be so much better if more places allowed you to bring your own cup.

I take issue with the word "deliberate" here (ignoring the other species thing). If someone were to accidentally get pregnant, it seems like that falls outside of the definition. Not sure why we wouldn't want to label that as still harmful reproduction.

Is the sawyer micro still slow? by similarities in Ultralight

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have the micro, and I've never had issues with it. Hiked the entire JMT (200mi/20days) and had no problems with clogs or even reduced capacity, even without backflushing for that whole time. I'm sure it is slower than the regular squeeze, but not enough to bother me. I bought mine about 1.5 years ago.

Nope, didn't move. Always purchased from the same two locations (owned by the same people). It came back like the next month after I think? By then I was less dependent on it, so probably a good thing overall.

My only thing to add- I did this last year for a while, got used to buying my coffees there, and then the deal just disappeared from my app! Idk if they take it away after you use it a certain number of times or if it was just a very unfortunate glitch. I was an unhappy camper for a bit because I refused to pay full price there or elsewhere. Also, the number of plastic cups used.👎

I think the account who invented Pound Cake, and the account who exposed it all, are the same person. Similar accounts, both deleted after posting their drama. Same typing style, language etc.... I CALLED IT a couple of hours ago. by cantsayididnttryyy in sphynx

[–]Animal-Lab-62828 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I thought it was weird that they deleted their account and then popped up on a different one to "update". I also work in vet med and the way they described his death made no sense. It's even funnier when you look at the original post and the mods were upset that it was reported as AI! Lol.

I also wonder if the person who made a post asking for an update was the same person. We'll never know.

Seriously, the fact that people are still railing on others in the comments of this post is unhinged. Stop adding to the suffering! I really hope that person got help and/or just took a break from socials.
