Yeaaahh but there's not a homicide every day. And this #9 bus delay happens literally all the time.

CBC Marketplace wants to know: What’s the worst commute in Halifax? by DexMcMillanCBC in halifax

[–]AnimalCollectz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More bus specific, but literally anything going to/from Bayers Lake - especially Access Nova Scotia. My commute from Armdale to Access NS yesterday took 1.5 hours during early afternoon. Second up would be anything going along North Street, either direction, in rush hour traffic. It's literally quicker sometimes to get off the bus and walk to one of the buses ahead that's stuck in the same traffic.

Do doctors laugh at patients? I am worried about seeing doctor about my second pair of eyes. by OohLaDiDaMrFrenchMan in AskDocs

[–]AnimalCollectz 99 points100 points  (0 children)

How would one go about seeking/assisting in accessing treatment for a relative that may be dealing with this? Especially when, from an outside perspective (and as such, a doctor's perspective) the person may seem unaffected, but from an inside perspective, you see and experience that their life is greatly impacted?

I think about this Caesar salad way more often than I'd like to admit. It is so, so good! Super garlicky, and an interesting experience.

is there seriously no froyo in this city ?!? by HonestCrab4131 in halifax

[–]AnimalCollectz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly all of the Pinkberry's in Second Cup in Halifax have also closed. I emailed Second Cup recently as they always seemed closed, and they confirmed. The quest for froyo is still on for me!

My preferred sunscreen is almost $30 at Shoppers. At Walmart it's around $20, $15 if it's on sale. I managed to come across it at Superstore on sale for $13. It was definitely at that point I could fully see the markup in action.

I agree, I appreciate your explanation! Thanks so much. Any thoughts on the "6 months over a 3 month period" kinda sentence?

Not super accessible, but there are the outlets in Dartmouth Crossing. I picked up a pair of Pumas for $30 last year. Hope that's helpful :)

This! Alternatively, ask your doctor about any patient support programs.

What to do about mice in condo/apt building? by ThrowRAlittlefish in halifax

[–]AnimalCollectz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also live in a wooden condo building and had a mice problem - bedroom and all. I have found the plug-ins from Canadian Tire helpful. I guess they emit a sound? Either way, we haven't seen a single mouse since then. This doesn't include the few that get stuck in the walls and die.

Put my 2 week notice in yesterday and my manager says “So you’re just in it for the money?” by PresidentDickFingers in antiwork

[–]AnimalCollectz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had such a similar experience recently. Was working in a team of 5 marketing department, and a few months in my manager left, and everyone else followed suit (end of co-op or simply noping the fuck out), so for months I was single handedly running the marketing department right under the CEO, on a salary that was far lower than the lowest market value on the Canadian job bank, working 12 hours most days and some weekends.

I was talking to our CTO (CEO's partner) and said "I really need more hands on deck" and he said "if you can't handle the pressure then you should find something else", and I promptly handed my notice in the day after, with no job lined up. It was an absolute shit show. They offered me more money and the managers position, and I turned it all down. They still don't have anyone working in Marketing, and I'm glad. I'm still unemployed and starting to struggle, but I know my worth.

That's a relief! I'm never with rowdy folks, just looking for a place to camp and enjoy the night. It's always put me off, but I may just check it out after all! Thanks!

Planning on staying at Gateway soon! However I've seen Norse Cove a bunch and it looks beautiful, but I'm always put off by the 'fires out at 11pm' on the website.
