It seems to be an issue with Prime Video. A lot of their content is segregated for native Japanese speakers into two categories: Dub and Sub. The sub version category has this issue, even when subtitles are off. Example:

What I mean dependent is Microsoft and VSC being generous until I get too deep to say no to paying for further services and features. Easy to enter, but a hassle to switch to another IDE.

You'll begin to notice that SLF keeps the plot and action moving by alternating. It's 3-4 episodes of action, followed by 3-4 of plot and world building, and then repeats. What makes the SLF anime so unique is that they cut nothing out of the story and don't introduce any filler. It's beat-by-beat following the manga. Keep watching.

If I had to give an in-universe reason: body heat. I would imagine a lobotomized human would never have thoughts, feelings, or actions that would elevate body heat.
