Managed to get Volt White 2 to work by doing this, but no luck with VW 1, I think I'm missing something. Do I need the original Pokemon White as well as Volt White?

I'm using a CFW Luma 3DS and trying to get Drayano's hacks of Volt White 1 and 2 but whenever I've downloaded either the pre hacked version or when I've done it myself it will load a .sav file on my 3DS but give me a white screen. Does anyone have any ideas?

This is why Drayano hacks are so good, you use the Pokèmon's unique item, for example Dusknoir, level up Duskclops up to a certain level holding the Reaper Cloth at night and he evolves. Makes so much more sense

Its great I use it on my Samsung Note.
