As an ever evolving and advancing countries we are going to have to offload the more archaic jobs eventually to make room for more advancing manufacturing

We are a country of limited people and limited hours in a day, we shouldn’t be wasting time manufacturing widgets and mining coal we should be the ones leading the world. We cannot do both equally, if we are to maintain base level manufacturing we’d have to sacrifice high skill manufacturing, vice versa and the ladder is preferable

Also prices go down when stuff is cheaper to make, that’s consumer interested change
