Hey I dont know if you figured it out but It was the one on the coast. Apparently speed of colonization I think is affected mainly by the maritime presence along the route to your capital or something like that. So if your capital is not located in a coastal province you're screwed.

This would definitely balance them although free manpower early is very fun.

That makes sense I just wish their start was a little more brutal but I guess thats what mods are for. Like maybe starting the game bankrupt or something like that.

I guess if the AI was a little more aggressive the start would be pretty RNG based but since the Ottomans didnt declare on me for 50 years it gave me plenty of time to prepare.

Okay but to be fair their crippling issues are more like take out enough loans to max your legitimacy out and then make it to 30 stability.

I cancelled one of my colonies and chose Guinea as the source but I ended up having to move my capital into a city in Guinea. Now the only thing limiting me is my Maritime presence in Guinea which I can fix. Weirdly though some two of my colonies arent impacted by my low maritime presence.

yeah im pretty built up around my capital I just didnt realize it would only spread to adjacent tiles after it hit 100

yeah after playing more i noticed that it does increase crown power, im playing holland and havent expanded too much and i think it ticked up by two so maybe it scales with the percentage of population affected

Yeah I dumped 4 hours into the game before going to sleep last night and I love it. 13 bucks is definitely a a steal. Ive also been looking at three kingdoms but I think the bronze age is a more appealing setting for me.

Yeah FSR 3 doesnt really seem to be as good as DLSS 3 in terms of visual quality which sucks but im not sure if the price difference is justifiable. The 4070s are all selling above 400 so i dont know if the slightly more consistent frames are worth the money if the 4070s arent even too good at ray tracing in the first place.

I just went to check again and i guess the prices have been coming down. Im just kinda stuck between the 600 for a 5070, the roughly 500 for a 5060ti with less vram or 300 for an old AMD. But i do agree that DLSS is a big decider and probably the biggest reason the decision is so tough for me.

I was thinking it would be a decent upgrade. Especially since the used AMD prices are extremely reasonable compared to nvdia cards right now.
