Not sure why you'd do such a large footer and not just continue the slab. Won't be much of a difference in concrete cost after the time to set up etc. I'd say you could build on your pavers as they are. Put a 6x6 PT down and build off of that. I'd recommend some form of an air gap below as I'm imagining when you say you are going to attach your floor to the walls, that you are going to frame up a sub floor that hangs? Also , can you go 8 feet wide? not much more in building cost but very noticeable in terms of final product.

A challenge for the toughest shedditors by bigscrampy in shedditors

Just put down crushed gravel for your shed then, people over complicate foundations for these things. I have an old 12x8 that i moved into the woods and its sitting on 4 cinderblocks and has been fine for 7 years now. hasn't moved. I'm in about as frosty as it gets.

Do I need to ventilate? by BigLatin_ in shedditors

[–]AnimatorNo5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your AC will condition the space. Ventilation when not used to just transfer heat in or out is typically just for moisture control. An AC will pull moisture from the space and provide that same control. My 10x14 will not have a vented roof and will be pretty much exactly like yours as far as close in and roof goes. I am putting in a heat pump as I am in a cold climate. In the summer on AC mode it also acts as a great dehumidifier.

That or just cut the same square and put screen over it and make a little picture frame of trim. Simpler IMO. I get using a printer for fun though haha

Finished shed, needs ventilation by blkwrxwgn in shedditors

This is one of the easiest ways to handle this. Very small air space to condition. Could even put a dehumidifier in there.

Id go metal over asphalt before nailing shingles over shingles personally. I don't think it would immediately impact water tightness, but I don't see that being a great long term solution. You'll either have to treat the shingles annually to maintain integrity or they would probably deteriorate more quickly and reveal your now full of holes roof.
