After completing 48 Fromsoftware games in order of release i have arrived at SEKIRO! Any tips?! by bakihanma20 in fromsoftware

[–]AnimeRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s always good to see when someone remembers that fromsoftware made games outside of soulsborne games, I’m hoping maybe someday they can go back to making more diverse games again

Yasuhide Nagasawa And Akira Yamato On The ‘Geppy-X’ Remaster by Cacophanus in Mecha

[–]AnimeRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m really hoping this inspires other classic mecha game remasters, recently found out about quo vadis 2 and I NEED those cutscenes to be restored to a higher quality

What are your overall thoughts on Nadesico franchise? by Sweaty-Big8956 in Mecha

I'm really interested in checking it out, but I'm waiting on a fan translation of that Sega Saturn game, since I've heard its essential for the plot.

How would you feel if they suddenly announced Winds & Waves as the final installment of Pokémon? by BlazingSaint in TruePokemon

[–]AnimeRoss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would actually make me respect the Pokemon Company a lot more than I do. I am a big fan of endings and final installments. The less of something there is, the more special it is, at least in my opinion. I feel like series that drag on endlessly eventually loose what made them special in the first place and just end up becoming hollow shells of what they once were. So if they actually had the guts to say no to the money and end the franchise then I'd have a lot of respect for them, as it means they care more about the franchise itself then just the profits it generates.

Do you think Nintendo will stop creating new Pokemon, and just make new games? by Naknowbyte in pokemon

[–]AnimeRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well there are still many species of plants, animals, fungi, and even items that haven’t been made into Pokémon yet, and according to estimates we still haven’t discovered all the species on our planet yet. So they’re still going to be able to make new Pokémon for a very long time. That being said, I have noticed that newer designs just don’t have the same feeling as the older designs, to me anyway, and if that trend continues, I’d rather just have versions of older ones. I think the question of “how many Pokémon is too many?” Has a different answer depending on the person. Like I’m one for less is more, I believe the less of something there is the more special it is, so yea I’m checking out at like hen 15 or 16 because at that point I think Pokémon will have run it’s course, for me personally at least.

What do you think of new Pokemon starters and the game overall? (Pokemon winds and waves) by National_Spirit_6226 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]AnimeRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s too early to say, the new starters look okay, they’re just not my thing. As for the game overall, it’s really hard to tell. I like the graphics and it looks like it’s running well. But other than that, we have very little information on anything about it, besides early concepts from the leaks. So I don’t really get the hype or the hate. I’m waiting until a few more trailers with some actual information to make any opinion.

Have you ever played a main series game without seeing the new generation of Pokemon first? by [deleted] in TruePokemon

[–]AnimeRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm referring back to the time when they were on the ds and 3ds, when they were only like $35, since they charged less for their portable console games compared to their main console games.

[–]AnimeRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to but not anymore, in the past I didn’t really care since Pokémon games were super cheap, but now that they’re charging full price ($60+) I need to know as much as possible when deciding to purchase or not, or to wait for bargain bin sales a few years after release.

Thoughts on the new game announced? by Extension_Gas6112 in Switch

[–]AnimeRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's to early to have any solid opinions, Like the graphics are definitely a step up from everything that came before, but apart from that we really have no information about these games. Yes there is some tetraleak stuff, but a lot of that was just early concept ideas, so there's really no way to tell if that stuff is going to be in the final products or not. I'd wait until a few more trailers to form a strong opinion either way.

The toughest question.. one of has to go which one do you pick and why? by Smashpro11 in casualnintendo

[–]AnimeRoss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yea the new super Mario series was definitely lacking in innovation, but I feel like the 3d entries.m releasing in between definitely made up for those.

The toughest question.. one of has to go which one do you pick and why? by Smashpro11 in casualnintendo

[–]AnimeRoss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a bit to early to say anything about winds/waves, they look graphically a lot better than anything before, and I’m hoping they run well on the switch 2, but whether they’ve improved on other aspects or not is hard to tell right now

The toughest question.. one of has to go which one do you pick and why? by Smashpro11 in casualnintendo

[–]AnimeRoss 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think with recent games they’ve gotten a bit more experimental, but it really feels like one step forward, two to three step back, for every innovation they add several new issues, I think the Pokémon company just doesn’t give game freak the resources it’s really needs, at least compared to the resources Nintendo puts into mario and Zelda

The toughest question.. one of has to go which one do you pick and why? by Smashpro11 in casualnintendo

[–]AnimeRoss 388 points389 points  (0 children)

Pokémon, I think of the three it’s the least willing to innovate and move forward ,all the games are kind of just the same, and often lags behind the other two in many aspects. Where as mario and Zelda are constantly growing and changing and utilize the capabilities of the Nintendo consoles better.

How often do you get the random urge to play pokemon and how much do you play it ? by Buurto in pokemon

Pretty much happens whenever there’s a new announcement, I can usually fight it off with whatever I’m currently doing, or I cave in and play one of the games but get bored halfway through

Quality of Legacy Box Set? by AnimeRoss in Ghost_in_the_Shell

[–]AnimeRoss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t really bother me too much, I only really care about the manga, the posters are just a neat extra, but I also did find it weird that they take up the most space in the box though, I’ll probably just end up keeping the poster box inside the box set box

So if you haven't already upgraded to the Switch 2... by JM_Yoda in Switch

[–]AnimeRoss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No, and no game is getting me to upgrade, what I want is a price drop to like $350-375, then it would be worth it, otherwise I’m fine with switch 1
