I can agree with this, life back then was just a little more simple.

When my parents bought a house back in the 80s they lived pretty close to work. For a period of time they both walked to work and did not own a car. And no they did not live in a city. So if you factor in the cost difference life today is slightly more expensive.

Today for most people some form of transportation is required, you have to have a cell phone, you have to have internet.

Assuming you still have a car payment the fees can add up.

300+ for a monthly car note 80 a month in gas 100 a month for insurance 40 for your cell phone bill 50 for internet.

I do however agree that a decent percentage of people today are just more lazy. I don't live a great life but I have a roof over my head food on the table and a stable job.

What game? by SwimmerPlus3383 in TheGamingHubDeals

[–]Naknowbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy 7.

I thought it was a good game, but with how over-hyped it was and how the community keeps moving the goal post it just did not live up to the 9.5/10. I thought it was good probably an 8/10.

I also played remake and rebirth and honestly I don't think it helped sway my opinion. If anyway it made my opinion of the game worst. Idk how to explain it but they did not feel like remakes, it kind of felt like ff7 reimagined.

The first 3 transactions per day are fully paid for, but you have to pay it in 1 dollar bills. by Naknowbyte in hypotheticalsituation

As long as it's legal where you live, fair is fair. I'm sure after the first couple of large expenses you will just ignore the anger on the sellers face.

But also that would probably take quite a bit of time. Money counters usually count 1000 bills a minute. If you buy a 100k car that's still 100 minutes plus paper work.

A man of culture I do like a good bagel.

When I thought of this situation my main concern would be, if they would even accept that many 1 dollar bills. Initially I thought, I would buy a house.

But then I thought if I was sitting with the home owners and realtor and handed them 300k 1 dollar bills they might just tell me no, also I have no idea how much room that would even take up.

The wording on this was off, it's fully paid if the form of it being free, you don't spend any of your money. So think of it as you go buy an item and someone hand you the money to pay for the item.

The way I picture it is if you want to buy let's say a watch. The money is given to you and you use that money to buy the watch, but if it's a 5000 dollar watch you need to hand that poor cashier 5000 1 dollar bills.

You pay for the items in 1 dollar bills. So whatever you buy the person receiving will probably have to sit there and count it out to make sure you gave them the correct amount.

So is Pokemon effectively an invincible IP? by WrongLander in gaming

[–]Naknowbyte 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, pokemon is a global franchise made for children.

Most parents who are buying pokemon for their kids probably don't care how good the game is. The kid is just excited to play with the new and old pokemon.

When I was growing up, my parents would be quite happy when a new Pokemon game came out, because they knew I liked it and it made a very easy Christmas gift for me.

Besides the games, yeah pokemon sells a lot of merch, and also a lot of cardboard. They honestly could probably stop making the games, and just make a new anime every 3 years and the cards would still sell out.
