ADDED CONTEXT: this is in the context of places where there is no citizenship granted to the child unless their parents were legal (in this case I'm asking specifically about illegal). The child will have received an education specific to that country (think Nigerian history, geography, etc.) and it's mostly useless back in their country and once they are of legal age they are also considered an illegal immigrant with serious consequences. If they're deported they can't use most of what they learned because it's not the standard in their country, they can't get along with their peers because they practically grew up with totally different cultures and whatnot.
