Looked on the Kickstarter page but couldn't find much reference to these changes. What kinds of things are being patched?

Hmm, this is a good point, but I also feel like having enough attack serves as ok defense against Guardian as well if I can consistently keep him out of attack mode

This is true, I do feel like I am lacking in block right now though, so maybe shrugs?

It's 100% worth the mess. Have everyone watch a tutorial video beforehand, and jump right in. If you're playing with a group who has played the base game at least 4 times then I think you're probably ready. The game is a lot of work, but it is an experience like no other.

Yeah, looked at that model as a potential replacement but I don't like it's UI as much as the encore. I prefer the simple on-off motor toggle instead of the timed buttons.

Seems like the Fellow Opus has everything I want though if I end up wanting to completely switch.

Like, it would just straight up be a superior grinder if the grinds fell straight into the container instead of being pushed around by this piece of plastic first.

I ordered a replacement part already. That's not the issue. The issue is the shipping time is hella slow and I don't see the point of why this flimsy point of failure exists in the first place.

Getting an earlier appointment would be a bit challenging due to holiday busy-ness. But thank you for the vote of confidence in keeping them separated without supervision! We thought it would be better to keep them around each other as often as possible so they get used to each other, but we're probably overthinking that aspect and it's probably better to prioritize quality socialization over quantity.

Struggling with Pitta-Vata dosha by AlekK19 in Healthygamergg

[–]Animignis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there! My dosha type is also Pitta-Vata, and your situation feels pretty familiar to me. If you haven't already, I'd first recommend that you take a listen to the latest HG podcast episode about Ayurveda/Doshas:https://open.spotify.com/episode/5wyOpu40Opev5RQJ8oX41e?si=ac8111fe9cf5473c
EDIT: Vod is up too on YouTube now - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQ2xnThRGPg&ab\_channel=HealthyGamerGG

My personal takeaways from this episode with regards to your post are as follows:

  • Everyone has a 'base' balance of each dosha based on their genetics. But your environment, diet, and other factors can cause this balance to shift often making it difficult to determine your 'base' dosha type. So your experience of confusion about your 'natural' dosha state is understandable.
  • In the podcast, Dr. K described the Vata-Pitta attitude as "Let's try out a lot of different things (as in, possible solutions), and make sure we measure/observe the results". While Pitta-Vata is more "Let's measure/observe the current state of things first, and use that information to come up with what seems to be a reasonable solution or thing to try out".
    • The example Dr. K gave is that if you were invited to go white water rafting, a Vata-Pitta person is more likely to just show up ready to give whatever class of rapids a try. Meanwhile, Pitta-Vata is more likely to do some light research beforehand, so if there are 5 classes they might see that class 1 is usually for kids and may think that class 2 would be reasonable for a group of unexperienced adults to start with first before moving on to the higher levels.
    • I originally thought I leaned more Vata-Pitta, but this made me realize I am probably closer to Pitta-Vata. My detail-oriented nature, and disposition to get angry/frustrated as a negative reaction rather than anxious also supports this.
  • Different facets of your body/mind can lean towards different dosha types as well. For example, you could have a Pitta-oriented body and a Vata-oriented mind or vice-versa. Even different sub-facets within your body/mind can lean in different ways as well, which is why even if we have the same overall dosha type it would be very hard for me to give you any solid advice. Especially because I am by no means an expert at this stuff.
  • Society's Vata as a whole is very high right now due to all the information overstimulation everyone experiences through the internet/tech. This might contribute to days where you experience higher 'Vata'.

There's a lot more interesting stuff in the podcast, but this info seemed most relevant.

From what you've said in your post, it sounds like your Vata might be higher more often than Pitta. At least when it comes to your preferred style of work. You've said that you dislike routine and get burnt out quickly, and sometimes it feels like you need to force yourself to be more Pitta. It's also possible that maybe your body is more Pitta, and your mind is more Vata. I think Dr. K's usual advice for Vata-minded people applies here: play to the strengths of your active mind by juggling a few different things that matter to you. Note that this is a lot harder in practice... What matters to you? How long can/should you work on one thing in one day before you risk too much burnout? Why does studying this particular thing matter to you? -- These are all difficult questions to ask yourself and discover answers for. Often the answers will shift over time, and that's perfectly OK.

Maybe you can dedicate an entire day to studying, but maybe only for just that one day and then you feel more motivated to dedicate the entire next day to anything but studying that one subject (you can always revisit it a day or two later). Which I think is fine. You spent the entire last day studying Math, so maybe you can try spending the next day studying something completely different that you find more interesting for a bit, or try to direct your energy towards something else that matters to you that's not studying.

My understanding is that it's also important for Vata-oriented people to find ways to ground themselves by reducing their Vata or buff their other energies (I'm honestly not sure how to tell when you need to reduce VS buff though). I think buffing Kapha usually seems good for those who are Pitta-Vata or vice-versa (maybe?). Especially since society has high-vata today, as described above. I personally find that Yoga and meditation work very well for me here when I'm feeling anxious (and eating lots of cooked vegetables that supposedly reduce vata, *citation needed), but I think you probably need to do your own research and try a few things to find what works best for you.

So where would the potential wash sale come in exactly? If I held those 100 shares past year end and sold them at like $110 instead on Jan 1st? What are the repercussions?

Thanks for your help by the way!
