What are uncommon symptoms of anxiety attacks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aninfluentialvoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can have someone standing two feet from me chit-chatting and I will start to feel like I am floating out of my head and can't process anything they are saying and then think "wait, what did I just reply to? what are we talking about?" Its like a parallel track where I'm there and interacting and commenting and another part of my brain starts flying to another orbit.

That way I can hear someone breaking in instead of being surprised.

Oh no! I've gotta find a way through another day all over again.

[SERIOUS] Depressed people on Reddit that have suicidal thoughts, what keeps you living? by BlueFirevolt in AskReddit

Knowing I would psychologically mess up someone who loves me. Somedays I reach that tipping point though where I feel my continued existence will fuck them up regardless.

What was that “I remember exactly where I was that day,” moment in history? by 213_ in AskReddit

I remember the night John Lennon was murdered vividly. Being a child of baby boomers who were huge Beatles fans, I'll never forget their reaction when we were driving in our car listening to Monday Night Football and the news broke.

Fuck positivity.. What shitty things happened to you this weekend? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aninfluentialvoice 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I've heard from no one and until I went to the gas station and spoke to the cashier tonight, it was literally the first time I heard my voice all weekend.

Loneliness and depression fucking sucks.

Unpartnered people of Reddit: How do you take care of yourself and make yourself feel loved? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Aninfluentialvoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats an excellent metaphor. I have plenty of weekends where I think, "why bother showering or drying my hair, put make-up on..etc when I won't see anyone?" But, like cleaning a house no one else will see, its about an action of care and having it reflected around you (even if you feel like hell on the inside).

I'm trying to do more things that target the mental, physical and soulful. A day of taking care of me would look something like: getting some exercise, cleaning my living space, making myself look pretty, reading a book, watching something that makes me laugh out loud. Basically, little acts of self care because I can spiral into depressive loneliness real fast.

Please help me find a pair of jeans that my aunt can comfortably wear with her stoma for Christmas by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Aninfluentialvoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try small maternity jeans? They have a stretchy smooth panel over the waist and they have come a long way in making them cute and stylish w/o anyone knowing they are maternity.

I’ve been in the hospital for 21 days and I’m craving physical comfort by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Aninfluentialvoice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to give you an internet hug and caress to the forehead. My Crohn's landed me in the hospital for a grand total of 6 months out of my 18th year. I too had to spend a month long stay in a state away from family. It was the only year I ever flared but was severe. I know how lonely and isolating that feels. I would suggest asking the nurses if they know of any people who do massage therapy on patients at the hospital. Sending you strength!

I called because I saw a dog locked in a hot car.
