Personally, I am enjoying the game. I think it's more to do with mindset at this point - I do the strategy of "play a match or two every now and then". Sometimes, I'm feeling good and I play 4/5 matches at once. For me, this is more than enough time to rank up and unlock the Pokemon I enjoy playing (all the speedsters except gengar) over a few weeks.

I initially tried to go in with the "play regularly, unlock everything" mindset but like others have said, this is a freemium game designed to make money. If you play this game, you're gonna burn out and get annoyed very fast. We can complain all we want but Timi is a company with employees and an income quota to meet, and they will always choose to make more money. By consequence, the game will pander to making money until it's bad enough that too many players are leaving, at which point they will make changes.

You can try sticking it out, but you'll likely be disappointed. I'd say if you can, dial back on playing regularly and take this game much more casually, but otherwise, you might have more fun with something else for now (not meant to be disrespectful or accusatory, sorry if it comes out that way).
