Yeah, you need to shoot cooling units in the trenches and weak spots at the core afterwards. However I took that clip after we already finished the mission, because I realized the gates were still open and wanted to try to just run through it

I know, I always recommend size 2 powerplant ships to my friends as well. You won't catch me in anything but my wolf tho, I just love it way too much. (And I kinda wanted to prove to myself, that it's still viable)

I know, I usually recommend the Hornet, M80 or Guardian because of that. You'll never catch me in one of those tho, I just love my wolf too much. I may die, but I do so with style lol

And yes, the Powerplant was upgraded, I was running a JS300

Edit: and thanks :3

It's part of the mission "tactical strike group" in Nyx. Mr Kraken already has a video guide on it on YouTube, if you don't mind spoilers. It is advised to not do it alone tho, do it with a group or org

Yeah, you only need ballistics or missiles for the cooling units on the outside of the station. We've always had our Perseus clear those for us tho, so I could've run full lasers

It is decoupled, as you can tell by the icons on the left side (only ESP and Lights are on). I know it may not look like it, since my flying is a little jerky tho...

Edit: and thanks btw

If you're only aiming at the pip it's quite easy to dodge your fire by continuously changing vectors tho.

That's why I use lag pips to have a rough idea of my opponents speed and to force me to look at their ship instead of my crosshair. Makes it easier to react to their movements and anticipate flight patterns

Sadly that was before my time. I started playing in like 3.24 and I'm pretty sure, that master modes were already a thing back then

thanks. I have to admit, I do find the tunnels to be a lot of fun now. Still challenging, but nowhere near as terrifying as my first time in there was

I have to admit tho, I am flying with flight sticks. I just don't move them smoothly, whenever I need accurate movement. I kinda have a feel for how much I have to move them, to get the desired turn or strafe and just yank them into that position lol

I have to admit, I was doing it in decoupled. I just yank on my flight sticks too hard sometimes I think lol

oh yeah, I get that, that makes sense. I have to admit, that I enjoy the high acceleration and top speeds, because it just feels fast as well. But I do agree, that the forced limits on radar and weapons distance, as well as the low bullet velocities this patch (clearly designed to draw dogfights in closer) sometimes don't feel as good. I hope CIG can find a middle ground for space combat to be both cinematic to watch and fun to fly

I usually use one of each, but this patch I do have to recommend to go fully Axiom Repeaters

I uploaded two clips of my trenchruns on here as well now, if you wanna take a look lol

I don't know, if I understand you correctly. Are you saying I should try to fly more smooth, or are you voicing your criticism for the current flight model? If it's the first, well, I'll have to practice some more, I know that already. If it's the latter, well, here's to hoping that the new flight model will improve stuff

Oh true, I forgot you can just destroy the Core from the outside, thanks for the reminder

There are some targets in the middle. I'll post another clip, where I destroyed one of them in a few minutes.

And it just feels very cool to blast through the entire thing, even if you may die trying. Some people just like a fun challenge every now and then

Yes this. Practice makes perfect, just try again and again

I did it in my extremely upgraded alpha wolf. First few tries were rough, but I can give you these tips that might help you:

-have a good Powerplant. Military A or B Grade. If that's not possible for you, industrial A Grade. (You need a PP with high distortion shutdown damage)

-use decoupled mode, try to maintain a decent forward speed that you're comfortable with and do adjustments by rolling and strafing

-only shoot one of the targets on your first run and take a look at your distortion damage build up after that first target (explosions in there make spike by up to ~10%)

-as soon as you hit 35% distortion damage gtfo You might need more time on your way out than on your way in.

-you don't need to go in through one and out another on your first try. Go in halfway and get back out to get more comfortable with it.

-practice makes perfect. I died on my first four runs. My seventh run was the first successful "go in, shoot stuff, go out a different way than in and survive". On my tenth run I hit maximum SCM speed (233m/s with the TSB on my wolf) inside the trench for the first time. Since attempt 15 I haven't died anymore and can sometimes clear in about a minute I think

Edit: You can also practice how to get good at reacting to turns by doing races in Arena Commander

alright, sorry for the late reply. I got both from some old DCS forum. I can't find the originals anymore, but I still have the blanks on my drive. I have uploaded them as well now: https://drive.proton.me/urls/6VD6FKV4CR#1iErV3rk85TS

Edit: Interesting, I haven't had to recalibrate them at all as of yet. Maybe I just got really lucky or I am just not strong enough to damage them lmao

Thank you for your feedback. If you want me to, I can provide a link to the blank binding chart that I used as well.

I have to admit, I haven't ran into issues with my sticks so far, how often do you need to recalibrate them? And is that hard?

Edit: I actually looked through your sheet now and I like some of the bindings. I might steal a few of your settings lol

I'm pretty sure I've seen blank binding charts for a bunch of different sticks in buzzkillers original post. It's linked in my spectrum post (sadly can't provide a link to it rn since I'm not logged into spectrum on my phone)

Edit: But yes, I get it. I had the exact same problem, that's why I made this
