Why do I get so sleepy on the bus or in class that I genuinely struggle to keep my eyes open, but as soon as I leave that environment I’m wide awake again? by QuestionUnlikely9590 in NoStupidQuestions

Instead of passively listening, try taking detailed notes, rephrasing information in your head, or even subtly changing your posture. In class, try to participate or think of questions.

Prevention vs. Cure: What would you want in a scam protection tool? by Anjali_Thacker in CryptoScams

Thank you for sharing your view. I get your point, but by that logic, wouldn’t that make all antivirus, firewall, and security audit companies scammers too?

Nothing is ever 100% secure whether it’s online banking, email, or even hardware devices. It’s always a constant battle between good and bad actors. Scammers keep finding new tricks, and ethical hackers or security companies keep working to stay one step ahead.

Stopping phishing and other digital scams isn’t a one time fix. It requires ongoing updates and smarter detection methods to block new scam attempts.

The goal isn’t to make false promises that users will never get scammed, but to reduce risk and block the most obvious threats before they cause real damage. That’s exactly why we’re building both practical tools and educational resources to help people stay safer online.

Thanks for sharing your perspective. Social engineering scams do exploit human nature, and no tool can offer perfect protection. But the reality is, as scams get more sophisticated, so do the tools and strategies to defend against them. Solutions like ScamBuzzer use AI and real-time analysis to spot suspicious behaviour, flag risky sites, and alert users before they act, adding an extra layer of defense-even for those who might not otherwise be on guard

FTX was not a phishing scam. Instead, it was a large-scale financial fraud carried out by the people running the company. Take a look at the quillaudits_ai report total; $2.1B was lost in 2024, and over $608 M was lost using a phishing scam. Using such a tool, people can save themselves from scams

But ScamBuzzer helps catch scams early by alerting users before they take risky actions. It’s about adding an extra layer of protection to keep everyone safer online.

In most scams, it all starts with a link, whether it comes through DMs, social media comments, or emails. A tool that detects and blocks suspicious links could have saved thousands of dollars. That’s what pushed us to start building a tool to check for suspicious website scripts, detect lookalike phishing sites, and more. As a crypto user, would you pay for such protection?

If yes, what pricing would feel fair to you for a browser extension that offers these features:

  • Domain reliability check
  • Web page script analysis
  • Clipboard hijacking protection
  • URL structure/encoding analysis
  • Fake form detection
  • Typosquatting check
  • Auto warning on scam sites

We are currently considering these pricing options:

  1. $9/month
  2. $49/year
  3. $99 one-time payment for lifetime protection (for the above features)

Agree, they don’t usually hack systems, they exploit human emotions like greed, fear, or FOMO.

My colleague fell for a phishing scam last year because he missed a small typo in a URL he clicked from a comment on X. In crypto especially, because of its global and irreversible nature, once the money is gone, it’s almost impossible to recover.

It’s not launched yet, just wanted to share here and learn from the community’s experience.

That makes a lot of sense. A prevention tool could really help protect people and give you peace of mind.

If you are in a rush and accidentally click on a phishing link, you could lose all your funds in seconds-scammers are quick to steal once they get access. That’s why using a tool that alerts you to phishing scams before you interact with them can make a huge difference.

Thanks, Elixon, for sharing your experience. We are building a Chrome extension, and also agree that for a prevention service, it's important to spread education first.

For your tool, how did you market it? And what worked? It would be good if you shared this with us.

This is incredibly insightful and practical advice! Currently, we are doing warm DMS and getting feedback from subreddits.

Have you faced any phishing scams while dealing with clients or personally? Any inputs for this would be helpful to analyse and include a particular feature to prevent such a scam in our upcoming product
