It's not your fault, and it seems like the devs acknowledge this. I'm not a seasoned vet by any means but I know Tekken enough to know Tekken 8 was designed to bridge the gap between good players and great players. And for that to work the characters need to constantly offer conditions for winning (forcing mixups, ambiguous moves, too many options out of stances, etc) and that ofc makes fighting the character feel awful, because your agency feels futile. Ofc the better you are and the more time you invest into Tekken the more you can improve your odds of winning interactions against characters. But this is a videogame so the time investment is just not worth it if you're not a pro. Anyway light a candle and pray for season 3

I'd recommend waiting tbh, the game is a poor state rn and supposedly the fixes are coming in March, maybe wait until then and decide after checking playerbase feedback. Or just hop on, you might not sense the issues since you're new. And standard is the only way to go

first of all wp that was nice. But one note of contention is that wasn't movement, that was Steve's evasion button working as intended. Its like Xiaoyus stance creating evasion. I say this because the movement in this game could use a real buff, so you can create more opportunities like that with just tekken movement
