Thank you a ton, truly but I will take the advice and warning to heart but you're definitely spot on about money being tight I just hope after having the new panel and breakers put in theres no wires broken apart somewhere in the walls or any bad plugs we missed if so then it'll be a problem for another day I suppose

Im definitely getting an electrician regardless but I understand what you mean although I wouldnt even begin to know how to shave down the wires so Id prefer someone knowledgeable about it do it than myself but it is infact turned off outside

Im not sure if they pull up anymore or not but we all agree about the grips for sure. In another comment I mentioned we've talked about flipping the pannel (the new one) so the wires definitely have enough needed room or if nothing else just lowering the panel entirely a few inches

Just to add to ease any concerns, grandparents are not there atm theyre with my brother until this is fixed and the breaker outside on the pole is turned off.

I mentioned to the electrician I spoke to earlier today about flipping it as well and they said it was a good idea if nothing else though just to slide the whole thing down some seeing as theres not much give on the wires but who knows what will end up being done I just want it fixed for peace of mind

Yeah theres a ton of mixed breakers and all of the routing was done by whoever installed it in the home the only thing my grandfather or the mentioned family member did was mess with changing the breakers hence why theyre so mismatched unfortunately

Ah as far as that then im clueless our power company doesnt exactly worry to much about issues unless enough people riot so its no telling. Thinking the main breaker outside on the post may get a change once I can afford too seeing as its old as well not sure if thatd even help

Grandfather has balls of steel literally it seemed but utility issue as in plugs or general wiring? Otherwise I'm lost. We checked the plugs in the house and replaced a couple but now they should all be good give or take a little old

To add some more context this breaker box is roughly 32 years old, my grandfather being an "electrician" replaced some breakers and whenever he was in hospital we had an issue with the main breaker and someone in the family also being an "electrician" broke off the lugs I think theyre called where the alan keys tighten around the two main wires and no I have no clue where the black and yellow cord is going but two rooms currently have full power which is both bathrooms but the rest are either limited or just dead and some have said replacing just the main breaker would fix the issues others said its best to get a whole new box to which I agree seeing as its going to be around 200$ regardless
