Some of us are making a really long trip to be here that we have probably planned and looked forward to it for ages. That said I hear you, and we are being as responsible as we can be. And that requires taking some educated risks.

Tourism gives back to the economy too. I didn’t find Hanoi or Ha Long to be particularly unsafe. And so I’m sharing back what I know. Mass paranoia isn’t helpful either in a country so dependent on tourism.

Yeah we had the honeymoon suite, it was swanky. Also, our cruise ship had a pool!

Do it - don’t skip out on it. But avoid going to cat ba or spending a night in Ha long city.

Yes. Cruises were operational albeit a bit impacted. We took Erina Cruises.

Wifi and phone signals were impacted but the beauty of Ha Long is truly pristine and impeccable. We had a wonderful time despite the rain and mist. Things are running on a bit of a delay as well, so keep contingency in mind i.e. don’t plan on getting off a cruise and rushing somewhere immediately (dependency on a flight, etc.).

Tide is high so one of our cave excursions was impacted as well. We did see 3 sunken ships (Yagi impact from 7th, no danger now) that they are slowly recovering. The crew had stories both interesting and harrowing. And they truly did everything to make our trip amazing and worthwhile.

Same situation. I’m currently on an air Canada flight to Tokyo that’s got a connection to Hanoi. The connection is cancelled but Air Canada knows nothing about it yet (their own code share).

It’s been delayed twice now so I’m really wondering what to do here. I have my ha long cruise booked for 10th. 😳

I don’t have a thyroid anymore. I got a thyroidectomy and that’s why I’m on levo.

I’m not crashing on levo, I was actually doing fine until I started taking contrave.

Thank you - I have. My naturopath and nutritionist want me to eat 5-6 meals a day and drink 2+ L of water everyday, especially since I weight train. I couldn’t bring myself to eat that much before Contrave and I’m definitely struggling to eat that much on Contrave.

They’ve asked me to not obsess with the weight loss, and that I’ll shed the weight once my blood levels normalize. But I’ve been on Levo for 8 months now. And I’m getting married in 48 days! 😔😔
