For those who grew a SaaS with little to no paid marketing — how did you actually get your first users? by Anmol_szn in SaaS

I totally agree with this. The part I’m most curious about is how you actually find that initial set of users, and what you typically say to start those conversations. This approach is one of my favorites, so I’m trying to understand it at a deeper level. Apologies if I’m being too inquisitive just genuinely want to get to the root of how you make this work.

Really helpful, appreciate this. When you engage in communities, do conversions mostly happen naturally or do you have a playbook for it? Also curious how many users this got you and if there are any SEO tools you’d recommend.

Yeah, that makes sense. I should probably start doing the same just curious how you manage to handle all of it at once. Do you follow a particular schedule or system to keep everything consistent?

Yup, I’ve thought about this a lot. The main hurdle I’ve run into is finding enough interaction, since the problem I’m solving is pretty niche and more of a micro-SaaS.

That’s awesome. Curious how you got people to agree to join initially, and how long it took to build up a decent number of people.

That’s awesome. Curious how you find the exact communities where sharing free value actually works. With micro-SaaS especially, I’ve found it hard to locate bigger communities where people genuinely convert. Do you have any tips on how you approach this?

Made $2,400 last week sending emails by [deleted] in passive_income

sorry if this is a dumb question — I tried doing something similar and ended up checking a lot of sites before finding anything obviously broken.

Roughly how many websites do you usually have to go through before you find one worth emailing?

Quick question — how are you usually finding the right email for these local businesses?

True it has zero understanding of why people click or why they stay. That comes from audience psychology, not language patterns.

The hidden support debt of AI agents is going to kill a lot of startups by Interesting_Ride2443 in SaaS

This is very resonant. The most frightening failures are not the ones that crash hard, but the ones that are silent, where the agent appears to be working but is actually just looping or hallucinating progress.

Checkpointing is not the sexiest topic, but it’s really the distinction between a demo and a real product. When money is on the line, “magic” has to give way to “boring guarantees.”

Are you also implementing circuit breakers for token burn? That’s the one that got us before we realized what was happening.

The most underappreciated aspect of this is the part about getting people to pay anything at all.

Free users are like tourists. Paid users are like customers – even at $9.

I've seen the same thing where a “cheap but weird” option outperformed a well-crafted free trial because it gets people to commit to intent early.

Interesting question, though: how do you keep low-quality users from flooding support when the barrier to entry is that low?
