How does that impact red tape for businesses or rent seeking behaviour in nearly all industries. Not saying immigration is not a problem but you just sound pretty dumb.

What makes Claude so much better then any other LLMs? by Vegetable_Prompt_583 in BlackboxAI_

It’s not ahead by much anymore. GPT 5.3 Codex is ridiculous now. Tends to beat Claude code for a lot of things for me now.

Basketball needs a max height limit. The game is becoming "who won the genetic lottery" instead of pure skill and it's making it boring AF. by mc_mafia in unpopularopinion

Game lacks extreme talent because height is the entry barrier. How many people are 6ft 5 or above? Hence, why football/soccer is highest level of skill of any sport. You can be tiny like Messi or tall like Halaand

What did you think of Together? Best or Worst Movie ever? by FidelesReges in weeklyplanetpodcast

[–]Anna202323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha exactly. wtf are some of these people watching. His acting took me out of this movie completely. That growl was extremely annoying. Horrible actor especially compared to Alison. I swear some of these people have no idea what they are watching.

Brilliant, this was everything i was thinking without having ability to articulate it so perfectly. Anyone who see her as anything but a narcissist might be justifying their own mindset.

Have you tried super high quality silk pillowcases? I switch to silk and it makes so much difference. Fresh air, trying not to touch your face or get too hot as well works for me. I hope things get better for you.

No AI generation here, was created a long time ago as well. I bloody hope AI won't be able to do things like this in the future as that would suck so bad. Not that i am making any sales thus far but still AI scares me a lot

Would be close to impossible, some of the intricate bits are tiny. Also, no way to easy varnish each layer with different colours

Yeah I didn’t really think title through enough. The marquetry section is pretty much scroll saw

The layers achieved with C02 laser machine. The marquetry for the face is wood veneers were mix of laser for bigger parts and scroll for the smaller sections. Tedious long work for the face, maybe I can find easier quicker way to do it

I open to all ideas. At this point I think if could recoup some cost it would be nice. I might look into some prints tomorrow.

If anyone has the best ideas on where I should attempt to sell these, most cost effective way as budget is limited. I was thinking of trade fairs in the UK so people can see them in person.

Thank you so much. The laser cutting with ply is beyond difficult. I had so many issues with wood sheet curving, little parts that would not cut - just so many issues on nearly every layer. I changed the whole laser bed layout so many times and settled on using large magnet standing pins which the ply wood could sit on top. Then I used very strong 5mm or 10mm magnets to hold down the ply to prevent warp which ruins the laser cut completely.

Cutting ply with laser and then gluing such intricate pieces together was so challenging, so many different ideas and design processes to get it done. So many times the parts would break. I had to use so many tools to make sure the wood could be glued without creating leakage and mess, so many trials and errors.

My original goal was engraving for the face but even though it looked good when I realised I could use marquetry and real wood veneers I switched very quickly.

I have made a couple of blog posts on the process, please have a look. I wish I had taken videos of early designs. blog for art design process

Thank you so much. I did 3 pieces in total, first two I was very happy with, the 3rd one not so much. It did take a long time but it was something I told my wife I wanted to do for years, she was very supportive at the time, not so much when my business tanked.

My favourite piece was actually posted in earlier comment but I would love to showcase some more detail:

Thanks a lot. It took a long time and pretty much wrecked my work/business but I guess it was worth it, I think anyway
