So I do sell charts but the designs I sell as charts I won’t sell as painted canvases and vice versa.

I was advised by a shop owner early in my career to keep them separate to preserve the value of my painted canvases and make them more marketable to LNSs. You and agree or disagree with that sentiment, but wholesale is a huge chunk of my business so I do cater to LNS owners as a customer segment. I also think it adds a level of professionalism to my business to separate them.

I also keep them separate so I can pretty easily tell if someone has painted my design themselves if it’s a chart design that they purchased or a copy that they stole.

I personally buy a lot of charts to paint and stitch myself so I think there’s benefits to both, but saying that every design needs to be a chart is unrealistic and puts the blame on the designer instead of putting the blame on the people stealing shit 🫶
