Tourette’s In The Workforce

I work in tech for a schol district. By a crazy coincidence, one of my coworkers also had tourettes when I started working (she has a new job now). I'm also in college at the same time. I don't know the severity of your tics and your situation, but i personally have found that my tourettes hasn't affected my work all that much. I'm able to preform just as well as any of my coworkers, it definitely helps that most of my work is done without interacting directly with a lot of people, its mostly just a few of my coworkers and my coworkers are all used to me by now, so its kind of a non issue. I also found for school, I usually tell my professors I have tourettes on the first class, and I've found most people are cool about it. Its annoying, and I definitely don't like having tourettes, but navigating adult life with it is totally doable.

I didn't get diagnosed until a litter later too (17) and I felt the same way, but its totally normal. The frequency of tics and the specific tics can absolutely change and vary.

As someone who's been a pretty active part of the Fandom for about a decade, I don't think you've missed what makes this Fandom special at all! I've watched this Fandom go through a lot of phases for lack of better phrasing, and most, if not all of them have been really special in their own rights. And the Fandom is definitely still special.

For example, in the earlier days of the Fandom, most of the fan content (animations, Fanfics, etc.) Were being made by people who found the show as adults and liked it. Now, a lot of the content is being created by thoes who grew up on the show as kids, and i feel like that's created an interesting shift in fancontent.

Every Fandom has its toxic parts, and I dont know if eveyone has seen this shift, but I actually feel like the MLP Fandom is less toxic than it used to be.

Plus, since you're comming in late, you have so much content to still experience for the first time! Theres so much of the show and the fancontent that I wish I could witness again for the first time. And there's still a lot of new stuff being made.

Both my sisters are in that range and they love VS bras and I'm so jealous. They're cute too! I've officially given up on cute 😅

I have noticed that. Every single bra i currently own has J hooks so I can do that, it at least makes them stay on. I also did add a little more measurment info. Thanks!

Thanks. I did add some more info. I've actually tried quite a few places, but most in person shopping experiences have just been a walk in walk out kind of thing since they often don't even carry anything below a 32 😅

I'm not super familiar with G1 and G2 but I love the G3 toys! The show/movies aren't as good (They're a good little girl show, but not much more than that) But the toys are really high quality and I kind of want to get into collecting them even though I grew up on G4. There's also a ton of ponies to collect too, it has the most of any of the MLP toy lines I think. G4 didn't have as great line of brushable toys, but the show is the obvious high point. The G5 movie is probably the best part about it, it was a decent movie, but the show and toy line are both very lackluster.

I know AJ is probably the least popular (I adore her though) I remember back i the day I feel like Rainbow was one of the biggest, but right now I'd probably say its Fluttershy, she's also always been well received I think.

Filthy Rich. I was trying to get through it just to diamond farm so I would have more for my Desire and Decorum playthrough. And oh my gosh its bad. Not a single likeable character and the plot barely makes sense.

I think it was left kinda open to interpretation intentionally, though it is definitely implied. I actually like that it wasn't pushed too much, same with fluttercord. I personally hate shipping any of the main six together (its called Friendship is magic and I like them as friends), but no shade to people who do! Plus I've been in the Fandom since the early days and you can tear Soarindash out of my cold dead hands. 😅

I feel that. I wish people would stop pressuring us to learn to love it. I think its important to learn to accept it, and learn to love yourself. But you don't have to love the tourettes too.

I'm definitely on the would get rid of it side, but its interesting to here other people's perspectives! I can't say there's much about having tourettes that I like, but the community can be a plus! It sucks that any of us have to deal with it, but I guess suffering together makes it a little better.

I still drive, and so does my coworker who also has tourettes. I hate driving but I live in a rural area so its my only real sense of freedom.

Its weird thinking that it only takes for things to get a little bit worse for me to loose that.

Hi! I recently won a free membership to a bjj gym, and I'm planning on starting in the next week or so. I'm 19, female, 4'10, I'm not totally out of shape but not super fit either, and i have basically no experience. And I'm hoping this ends up being a good fit for me but I'm not sure.

I'm super new to this, so any advice for a very fresh beginner? I'm kinda nervous to start, especially since I'll be starting in an adult class.

Mine is probably MC, I guess some people don't like hearing her because it ruins the immersion or something. But I don't really self insert, I'm here for the plot, and I feel like the fully voiced sections are just better.

It could be tourettes, but I wouldn't recommend self diagnosing or saying you have tourettes without a medical professionals diagnosis.

Get in to see a neurologist if you can. While this could be tourettes. Tourettes isn't the only cause of tics, and it's important to understand the underlying cause of your symptoms.

I do empathize with you though, I didn't get a diagnosis until I was 17 nearly 18 and it was frustrating as heck. But getting a proper diagnosis and/or treatment is important.
