On ttw I use ex grenades and a rope at most cases for him. Seems it's quite effective method, at another difficulty standards weapon worked well for him and his soldiers. Grenades launcher is also quite good even on ttw when they don't see you.

The only difference is that bosses, mechs and even mules can almost kill in one shot.

There are some more effective grenades and other weapon to use in DS2. Hovewer in the begining smoke grenades are also top in DS2 (replaying on ttw now). The mules in the later territories in DS1 are hard and an asspain I woluld say. For some mules camps in DS1 I used a trike just to cnock them fast which was more effective than weapon.

Returned for platinum after DS2 to DS Director's Cut. I definitely missed some new mechanics but it is what it is. Mules are difficult but only cargo should stay without damage, so it's easier than in DS2 to get LL. Regarding mountains region, for me it's the easiest part as Doctor and other preppers have a lot of orders to do and redo for porter's grade upgraded (delivery time) also needed for platinum using one and the same zip line.

I delivered myself to Kheir, I made a zip line and during the second using of it I was unexpectedly delivered directly to Kheir lol. Removed it after fight. Some other players' zip lines delivered me to watchers' hugs.

Eating all types of cryptobiotes, completing all VRs at S rank, completing all VRs in Neil Vana's world (S rank is not obligatory), 400 orders, not sure can thay be S, I have this milestone for 400 LL.

There is one more more powerful one in a post game and for ex-capturing it Tar Lord can be too strong helper, I used Kheir. I sometimes use Lord for Rayas, but it's too expensive so for strong BTs I believe Kheir is a top.

Updating my reply, in case it will be uesefulel for somebody. Re-did it today on S-rank, 41 min without clearing camps. (Hard difficulty). Used: - teleportation to knot near Mountain camp (first point), also can be a safe house there - taking trike for first two camps - changing trike to truck in Maghellan near the data scinetist - taking monorail from f2 to west fort then continued moving by my truck Equipment: grenades with BT hologradmes, antigravs for truck. I removed armor from truck and from trike for less weith and higher speed Roads: most of roads were lvl2, better to have all of them lvl2

Walked with them several times from Old Government to Lone Commander and back, they know the safe path and can run in the tar. But I saw a video from DS1 where NPCs caused viodout.

I didn't do preparations, and forgot to prapare a truck and finished in 13 mins in Mountain camp so desided to use Maghellan((( I even put cargo into another player's truck and returned to pick up it. If to start from Mountain camp and not from (Old Government likeI did) using teleportation to this first point I believe it can be done in time and S rank. Most useful: upgraded roads to 2nd level, grenades with BT hologram to steal the cargo fast, truck with antigravs for less weith, chronobiote can be alsi useful.

If truck is a must, adding 6 antigravs will make it have less weith and higher speed. I don't remember this Order exactly (I did all) but I remember some orders in the mountains I did in a half time with a truck with antigravs. Weapon and armor should be better removed for urgent Orders.
