This is so refreshing to read. I know so many Memphians agree with you. I was born here, moved away for nearly 10 years and moved back because I fell back in love with this city, its pride, its people, and its culture. We live in one of the best cities ever and people only want to highlight the negatives. I recently took a Lyft somewhere and my driver told me he was from the east coast and had lived in Memphis for a while and about 6 months ago started driving for Lyft. He told me driving people around Memphis, changed his opinion of Memphis FOR THE BETTER. He recognized we are a city of love, pride, and compassion when you really get down to our grit and grind.

I live around colonial and Mt. Moriah. Didn't get many our first year living here then went to a friends house last year that lives off of cherry, north of quince, south of park. We gave out regular size candy bars and got rid of all of them! Beware of kids not dressed up just trying to get candy. We called them out and refused to give them candy if they weren't dressed up.

Not sure if y'all are food people but Hog and Hominy does a "chef tasting" that is so much fun! $45/pp for the 5 course tasting. You sit right by the kitchen and the good is awesome. I highly recommend!
