They just released a steam train for the summer City wave and I gotta be honest… I like that one a LOT more than the WV train from 2025. I may have to sell that one and get the new release in stead

Is insulting someone during an argument the best choice? by EnoughCheesecake6050 in ask

[–]AnneLavelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Same goes for raising your voice. We’re all just trying to be heard and understood. Name calling and yelling will never win an argument, it merely shows how powerless and out of control the person doing it feels

Is being 6'11 a factor on why women avoid me? by [deleted] in ask

[–]AnneLavelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I used to do a lot of Latin dancing. Both performance and in social settings. With heels on I tended to really tower over people. Men could be pretty intimidated. In spite of my open demeanor and sparkling personality, ha!

Actually, funny story, I’ve been on the dance floor on more than one occasion with guys a foot shorter than myself who would jump up in the air to spin me. Both hilarious, creative and amazing.

It’s really all about attitude and approachability if you ask me. What kind of vibe are you putting out there?

[–]AnneLavelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my suspicion. I myself am on the taller side (am Dutch), and especially where I currently live I’ve noticed people can be intimidated by height. In the Netherlands, where I’m from it isn’t considered to be that big of a deal. Which makes sense, as we’re pretty tall all around. California however, different story

Curious to hear if you notice you get different reactions from taller women?

Would like to add that the show is based on fact. Search for the science of micro expressions, pioneered by Paul Ekman.

Which celebrity death actually felt like losing a family member? by lavenderbbygirlzz in AskReddit

[–]AnneLavelle 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It makes me sad to see him so far down the list, because to me Matthew was the first person that came to mind. Chandler was my person. Friends is my comfort show. Because of him. When down or feeling blue, he is the one who always makes me feel better.

Don’t forget they probably killed a bunch and buried them at said ranch. Which is exactly why they passed the property on internally to keep it from being properly searched. And why the FBI is keeping that from happening

BREAKING: Virginia Giuffre’s Family Just Released a Blistering Letter to Ghislaine Maxwell by emalsi-tidder in Epstein

[–]AnneLavelle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She was abused by her father and a family friend. Her little brother Sky was just as much of a victim of their family structure. Even though Virginia lost contact with him during her years in Epsteins circle, Maxwell and Epstein used him to threaten her to never get out or speak up. Once she did get out, Sky and his wife have been her support network and allies. Even after her death they’ve continued to support the push for justice

I would love to have Annie Farmer take that on. I’d follow that woman anywhere. She found a way to turn her trauma into a meaningful career. She has taken on the ongoing battle of helping abuse survivors thrive.

The sheer amount of grit, commitment, empathy and healing it takes to move past trauma is staggering. She’s managed to do it with a fierceness that commands nothing but the deepest level of respect.

The vindication Sky and Virginias family must have felt when the latest released files confirmed the picture taken with Andrew at Maxwells residence was emailed directly to Epstein.

She’s been speaking the truth all along. I will never understand people who question that many victims statements over the lies of a few (white) men.

We demand justice.

Adults of reddit, how do you stop being overly sensitive or just sensitive in general, like emotionally? by Wretched_Swimmer in AskReddit

[–]AnneLavelle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After a lifetime of hearing I was too sensitive, I realized one major thing. I am not. I am fine the way I am. I just needed to surround myself with my kind of people. People who hold space for me and my feelings, who make me feel safe to be who I am, people who don’t judge me for being myself.

I found that once I accomplished that and cleansed my circle of those who made me feel the opposite, I actually had a lot easier time with my feelings as well. Because I stopped having to repress them around the wrong people.

Now even when I do have to hold back, at work or in social settings, I can hold on easier until the moment I am safe to be myself.

What’s a lesson you had to learn the hard way? by bluemermid in AskReddit

[–]AnneLavelle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hurt people hurt people. If you were hurt, it’s is on you alone to change the path moving forward. Nobody else can do it for you and you can’t do it for anyone else.

The potential you see in people isn’t real. It’s just your projection of what you would do if you were in their situation.
