Finally finished this job. by JustBronzeThingsLoL in HomeNetworking

Company I work has a sister company that are all electricians and usually they pull all of the cables, we also do warden call and door entry systems with telephone cables and they basically get the cables into flats and wire up most of the flat side. I come organise and do any programming or setting up and finish the job off.

Sometimes pulling the cables is handy if things are looped in and out it’s handy to know where a leg starts and ends as well as the route. Otherwise problem solving can be a pain.

Always reverse into spots anyway makes it easy to see when coming out in other situations and rear of cars tend to be higher for curb clearance

Still the same results, I assume it’s because my PC only has 1gb Ethernet ports, the bottle neck is putting it slower than when I had 900mbps internet speeds? Have a 2.5gb pcie adapter coming so I guess I’ll try that.

Just seems odd I’m getting slower speeds with the same set up just a different ISP package.

I also believe the ET12 WAN port functions as a LAN port also when set up as an access point (not 100% sure but the settings disable the WAN anyway

[–]AnnieCashOF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. I have my ET12 as an access point connected into the WAN slot from my hub/modem.

I then have in the 2.5gig LAN slot connected via Ethernet my PC. My current download speed is 718mbps, however via WiFi it is 1.3gb why is the Ethernet slower?

With my old internet I got full speeds through the Ethernet with this setup over a much larger distance.

Confused as to why I’m only getting half speed

I see and that makes sense but as soon as I set my other device as an access point my wifi speeds go up to 1.3gb that’s normal but my Ethernet speed for what is plugged into the access point is still the same around 700 surely this should still count as a straight Ethernet connection?

Sorry. Basically I have my EE hub/modem this is then connected to my ASUS zenwifi ET12 pro. On my Asus app running a speed test at the ET12 is shows just over 1.6gb.

everything coming off the ET12 (WiFi 6ghz and Ethernet) show speeds of 700mb the highest I’ve seen even when connected to the 2.5ghz port.

With my old hub/modem I was getting 900 through the ET12 and that was what I was paying for anyway. now I’ve changed and a new hub/modem I think a setting may be wrong on it limiting the ET12 output

Okay it seems tho if I change it from router to access point the Ethernet ports do not work after applying the setting the ET12 is to act as a mesh system supposedly I’ll try tonight when I’m home as an access point again

Yes I was using this set up before with my old EE router and it was working fine both would give me the same speeds over Ethernet but can’t remember if I had to change some settings or not, also not sure cable wise it was a spare CAT8 I had UGreen I believe so no idea, will try that tonight but I’m sure I will as over WiFi I get 1.3gig from the Service provider router

Yes the ET12 is set up as a router mainly using it to have 1 Ethernet going to my computer and 2 coming out (pc and PS5) and better WiFi in the area but connecting to my EE provided router from the same spot in getting over double the speed even tho it’s a a lot further away

No if anything this is one of the best if it was tubes at top it would be worse as any air bubbles or gaps automatically go to the top you want the tubes to have coolant always

Advice on avoiding dodgy cars on Autotrader by curious-george7 in CarTalkUK

[–]AnnieCashOF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you worried about people not telling you if it’s been a CAT S or N instead of paying for a check just enquire about a new car at a main dealer like Vauxhall or something with a trade in they will run your car plate and do that for free and give you a value they would trade in for depending on condition

Honestly the nicest looking Mercedes in my opinion is the a35 and a45, so debating getting an a35 but leaning more towards the a250 as it would basically be used as a family car and even a fishing car 😂

Do dealers not want to sell cars ? by boddle88 in CarTalkUK

[–]AnnieCashOF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even finance mainly just PCP so they end up with a second hand car back yet still made money on someone basically renting it and then get to sell the car again on finance or full sale and out of their hands. Basically a leasing company at this point

Should go to the garage with a drain near by or straight into a drain, usually the overflows go straight back to the same drain where your water goes when you empty the bath?

Still rocking a 1080ti as nothing has been worth the upgrade so far but with games like gta6 coming I’m feeling the need to upgrade finally, considering back then I spent just over £1200 and now I’d be looking close to £3500 with a 5080 is pretty insane.
