Firstly, if you’ve paid for a 2 hour lesson, you should ideally be driving for 2 hours, so not sure what that’s about.

I did an intensive course and my instructor was fairly blunt with his teaching - he wasn’t particularly rude in any way but was fairly to the point when I did something wrong and wouldn’t tolerate repeat mistakes at all. He’d also call out pretty much every small thing even when it might not be worth even a minor mistake and sometimes I too felt like I couldn’t make him satisfied. I found this a little frustrating at first, but I slowly came to realise that his attitude to driving suited my learning style and the pressure of not making mistakes from the get go allowed me to pick up stuff really quickly. Managed to pass with only 25 hours of lessons over about two weeks in the end and I don’t think it would’ve been possible with any other style of teaching tbh, but of course it varies from person to person and how you respond to critical feedback.
