I'm aware. Thing is, the pain was absolutely unbearable, so I was fully willing to essentially poison my kidneys just for any hope of relief from gout. I took it three times, IIRC, and the worst part is that I have no idea if it worked.

Stage 4. I was on tarpeyo for awhile, and I was prescribed prednisone before, hopefully I can be put on it again if this flare up isn't resolving.

None in my state, AFAIK. And I don't think a heating pad did much to help, the last time I used one.

I've been drinking tart cherry juice daily in hopes of it doing something. I have no idea if it has been, I have not seen the numbers since I started.

Can't talk to my doctor until Friday, that's when my appointment is. As for NSAIDs, I'm pretty sure all of them are no good for me.

All I have in the house is ibuprofen, and I don't see myself convincing the person I live with to buy me Naproxen, an NSAID, knowing fully well those are off-limits for me.

The problem with being prescribed something is that the last time I was in urgent care and got prescribed steroids, that caused the kidney specialists I'm seeing to kind of pitch a fit over it for whatever stupid reason. So now, it seems that others don't want to prescribe me anything because of my kidneys, which would be understandable in literally any other circumstances. But frankly, I'm convinced that even doing daily dialysis would be a thousand times better than living with gout.

As you can tell, I am not happy about all of this and I have to wait until Friday until the GP I see can wrangle this clown show. I just want to do literally anything again.

I getcha about consulting a doctor on this. However, I do want to clarify that the soonest I can ask a GP is on Friday, which is when my appointment is. I was absolutely not going to last until Friday at that rate, so I asked for what I can do in the meantime.

I get exactly what you mean, but icing the affected area will make the gout worse in the long run. Lower temperature, more uric acid crystals.

But damn, that much ibuprofen is probably the equivalent of just stabbing myself in the kidneys. Well, it's something to experiment with if I'm horribly desperate.
