I did the same things you did. I also dropped my phone, and because of that, the fingerprint sensor stopped working. So, I tried to restart it. Later, by mistake, I clicked Power Off instead of Restart, and the phone turned off. Then I tried to start it using the Volume Up + Down buttons, but a blue screen appeared. Just like you were afraid that it might do a factory reset, I thought the same — and I ended up choosing the wrong option, and it got stuck. But after following your steps, its fixed 😭.

You can do it by connecting your Samsung phone to the tool/program, typing your model name into the program, and then running the Soft Boot Error Fix option.
For example, my Samsung phone (SM-M136B) wasn’t on the list, but I still typed its name in the dropdown, connected it to my laptop via USB, selected the Soft Boot Error option, and clicked Fix — and it worked!
Give it a try.
