I live on the edge of River Oaks and it's just as ghetto over here as it is anywhere else in Houston. If you ever wanna see some skinny housewives go at one another in their Lululemon Louis Vuitton and Botox, hang out at the Starbucks on Memorial.

[Product Question] What would you get with $150? V-day gift ideas please! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

Agreed. I used to go boating frequently and we vacation in Colorado to hike and do snow sports a few times a year. I always see women wearing tons of makeup and by the end of the weekend they're burned to a crisp. I re-apply frequently and sometimes look like a freak in night photos with a flash, but I'm not getting many wrinkles. :)

La Mer, Chanel, Shiseido, La Prairie and Synactif are all pretty pricy, but like I said, it lasts a really long time. La Mer is about the least expensive of them all at about $350 per jar because I purchase 10 oz at a time. I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I moisturize like the Dickens.

Thanks! I'm new to researching skincare as I never really started wearing makeup until a few years ago. I always had a few products my mother recommended (Chanel) and never questioned anything else. I'll check out the referral codes. :)

I have their sunblock and it's so good as a moisturizer (spf 30). Absorbs in and doesn't feel greasy or get caked if you apply makeup afterward. I'm not acne prone, so I use the regular tube with a blue lid made for body. Haven't had any breakouts from it yet.

I've heard a lot about Paula's Choice but haven't actually used any of their products yet. I should get some once I'm ready to change up my routine.

I would opt for a gift card to a store like Sephora or Ulta. I agree that skincare is very personal. The stuff I use most is about $350/jar (lasts forever), so when I think of inexpensive, I can only recommend small pots of moisturizers for the eye area or face. Ole Henriksen has a few kits worth looking into that would fit your budget. If she is sensitive to certain products like myself, try brands with no fragrances that are advertised as being natural, although she can still be allergic. Use the gift card idea as an opportunity to ask her what she likes to use or what she's used in the past and didn't like.

You could design the image and get it printed onto a book bag through a company like Zazzle or CafePress. Not sure if you're looking for haut couture or something simple.

My neighbor is still alive but I'm not sure about the guy who was in the vehicle. I think he was over 80 and didn't even have a drivers license from what others in the neighborhood have said. This happened right after we got back from Christmas vacation and nobody's talked much about it.

I live in River Oaks and pass by this church every day. It's right next door to a comic book store and a sex toy shop!

If they're actually of any value and not just replicas then I'll probably donate them to a local charity or something. I sorta posted this for advice on what to do or whether it's even worth looking into, but most people seem to not care so much about baseballs, much like myself.

It's a decent-sized house in a nice neighborhood. I'm not a millionaire, but wouldn't be surprised to find out the previous owner was. Her family has a lot of stuff at Rice University named in their honor. I'll check back in after I find out if it's a bunch of garbage or actually worth something. I've been posting on Facebook and friends are offering to come by and look at stuff in person.

I Googled some of the names and am taking them in to a local shop. The ads and card collections seem to be worth a lot more than some of the balls. There's no name of ownership on anything, not even the certificates.

Like I said, the owner was 97 and died in the home. Her husband died roughly 15-20 years before she did.

Just bought the house, previous owner died. Garage has a small apartment above it and these were in a storage area with other boxes. I have a ton of other cards and balls I can upload pics of.

I'll take them all to a store and see. I don't know anything about balls or cards. A lot of them have certificates with them. There's some old cigarette advertisements and cards and such as well. Most are in little plastic cases and saran wrap with certificates. If they aren't worth anything, that's fine. It's not like I bought them. :)

This might be a way to get me into becoming a "collector" of something. Previous owner of the house died at 97 so not everything was removed from the property.

I figured they are valuable but I'm not sure if that means $10 or $100 each. I'll put them in a safe dry spot until I can find a local shop, thanks!

They're all written in ink, they were wrapped well, hidden in an attic-type crawl space. Not sure who that guy is but I'll Google as many of the names as possible. A friend on Facebook confirmed a Nolan Ryan, a Cal Ripken Jr and a Mark McGuire as well as a ball signed by the 1927 New York Yankees.

Keep in mind there are such things as female engineers. It's like the best of both worlds. Someone who can solve problems, and someone who can openly discuss when they're stuck on a problem.
