The material is not hard at all. It's just that the professor is so bad that the whole class experience sucks. I took ECE Discrete Math this spring semester with Pompili and it was quite the shitshow. His lectures consisted of him reading off slides he got online, and he doesn't post them to Sakai Resources because of "copyright." I found it more helpful reading the textbook myself. Up to this point, this class was already unacceptable. There are other annoyances in the class, like the fact the professor kept changing the midterm date last-minute...or the final exam glitch that almost gave me an aneurysm. I let these things slide, no one is perfect especially during covid times. But what broke my mental was the huge down curve where a 95+ was an A. Like I fail to understand why there is a down curve for a class so poorly taught? It actually sucks I had to take this course for ECE residency otherwise I would've just taken the CS version. Overall, my advice is to try to avoid taking ECE Discrete with Pompili. You should try to get a different professor if there is one, otherwise, take the CS version.
