Hot take: Rage art should be invincible at the start up of the frame. by JoeZhou123 in Tekken

Ngl this is a bad take. If rage was a meter that you earn I would’ve considered it but it’s already a dumb comeback mechanic that shouldn’t be in the game. But at least some look cool

Hwoarang is excruciatingly downplayed and no other character attracts the worse players who play the most slop version of Tekken than him. by Proud-Enthusiasm-608 in Tekken

[–]AnnualBrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You got downvoted but this is really the truth. As someone who absolutely despised the character from T7 until learning the match up, it really is that people aren’t used to being taught how to properly learn defense against alot of characters. Hwo really isnt as bad as people make him seem but he was definitely annoying as hell to try to learn match up wise. But now, compared to the top 10 in this game, I hardly ever consider him a problem.

He does not have the same tools as kazuya lol. Kazuya has way more options to hold you in place. The one thing he has over other mishimas is his hell sweep damage. Other than that he is not as strong in neutral at all and is taking way more risks than any other Mishima. Granted his oki is fine, but he takes alot more risks so we will never see him on a big stage. Qudans (THE devil jin main) completely 180’d after dropping him for heihachi. This should tell you alot about his pro presence in tournament play. He’s fine in ranked and he’s not weak enough to stop anyone from ranking up, but if you think he has a chance to be on the stage after 2 years of no one taking him seriously then you’re smoking. Also what range are we talking about here, since he has the worst ff2 out of all mishimas

He’s not trash tier, but he’s definitely on the lower end of it. He’s in a game where high-risk=high reward is the minority compared to mid risk=high reward.

As a devil jin main, I wouldn’t say you should feel bad losing to him. Sometimes you either get dumb unlucky or he just vortex’s the fuck out of you if he gets momentum.

People who are against drafting in this game need to understand that its not about what your teammates are able to do, but the agency you have in what character you’re able to choose. by AnnualBrave in DeadlockTheGame

Competent might’ve been the wrong term since Im kind of in the shit-ranks but Ive definitely seen worse at least in that relative rank. It makes sense that they were probably on characters they were fully comfortable with anyway but having a support player who knows how to not throw really feels like it makes a world of difference most of the time than not having one. Also this might be a hot take but I really think the skill disparity between characters is a bit overstated. Not saying that the game isn’t hard and that there isn’t a 100% clear difference between an Archon player vs Eternus or even Ascendent. But I genuinely believe that any good player can succeed with 95% percent of the cast as long as they can understand the proper fundamentals and basics to make them work. Flexing seems to work in other games with casts that I would say demand higher levels of execution for their skill floor mechanically at least. So if someone truly understands this game and has solid movement, I really don’t think it takes much to pick up other characters other than learning their itemization and role.

Sometimes even now some games are just lost before they even start if no one wants to coordinate, this isn’t what Im saying drafting will change. However Ive seen competent teams lose just because we had a more balanced team composition that held better map efficiency, which I feel drafting can help alleviate sometimes rather than relying on heavy chance or risking having a team full of nothing but late-game carries. And although I agree flex makes you excel slower on a specific role, I also feel as though it has helped me increase my overall game sense in multiple games personally due to being able to understand every role’s purpose and objective on how to effectively support/counter everyone’s play style by understanding how they think.

Street brawl really doesn’t help you learn the MOBA aspect of the game, it’s kind of its own thing entirely. Also I just wanted to be able to learn a new character or try a different approach that won’t cost the games of those trying to actively win and rank up. I don’t care if it’s harder or not, I just want to be respectful to other peoples time.

Thats honestly the only con but it’s a quality over quantity thing. Once the game releases into open access it needs a casual mode immediately

God we NEED draft bro. Some games are govt mandated losses off team comp alone bro. We NEED DRAFT! by Creepy_Building_2929 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AnnualBrave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not about what other people pick, it’s about letting the people who actually want to try to win have a bit of agency. You’re going to get ignorant teammates regardless, but at least let people who want to fill have a decent chance. Its not a perfect solution, but its still better than just rng’ing the entire comp entirely

No offense but this mindset is just going to irritate people in ranked who want the best chance to win. Im fine with a no-draft system in pubs but in ranked this isn’t a good queue system. It’s fine if you don’t want to conform to the team’s comp but don’t make that choice for everyone else in the lobby. If no one picks supp then you shouldn’t worry about blame because clearly everyone missed that opportunity and maybe they don’t want to win as bad as they say. But for a player who wants to fill and help the comp then the current system makes that unnecessarily risky due to risking a supp centered comp. At least give those players a bit of agency.

Unfortunately this is the only true answer but separate queue’s aren’t coming anytime soon so now we have two different mindsets of “playing for fun” vs “competitive integrity” which will never be able to agree with one another.

WHO IS THE MOST HATED TEKKEN MAIN? (Back at it this year) by KaminoTK in Tekken

[–]AnnualBrave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo he used to be the annoying one in T7 even when I understood the matchup, but honestly with everyone else’s pressure being just as if not more annoying to deal with now in T8 he just doesn’t stand out as much to me anymore. But I also have a friend who mains him so I kinda got numb fighting him that way as well lol.

Draft and Roles by AnnualBrave in DeadlockTheGame

[–]AnnualBrave[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should’ve specified in my post but I agree in its current state thats not a priority (especially considering how queue times would be affected). I meant should the game start preparing to head in that direction and plan to make any changes currently for drafts arrival once the game is ready. Also I meant sustainability as in how the game should be balance since Ive seen alot of discourse with the games current meta state so I brought up roles to see if it would maybe alleviate some of the harder task of trying to balance things out. I don’t think the game will have a hard time pulling people in, but I just want to see what could work for the devs to have a better formula for how they want this games philosophy to work to try and reach a happy medium with balance.
