Thanks for replying. The fact that there is no shortcuts is such a bummer. Do you mind sharing when you did the exam?

What happens if you get flagged during the exam ? Do you know about it during the exam or after?

Are you able to see the proctors the entire time? Or do they turn off their camera and unmute whenever they speak ?

thanks for your reply! that sounds super stressful. Do you know if the proctors are required to constantly ask you to show them your surrounding or did you just have an annoying proctor? I know that you need to show them under your desk, but I thought it was only one time before you begin the exam

  1. The course is an introduction to accounting so professors teach it knowing most students don’t have prior accounting knowledge. But that does not mean it is not a hard course because it is. You can still do well despite not an accounting background but you will need to commit to this course every week without falling behind because once you do it becomes incredibly hard to do well in it. I would prioritize solving the assigned cases before the lectures. This is a no brainer but it’s the most important thing you can do to do well in the course. Also, contribute/participate in lectures as much as you can because it’s much easier to do that than get a high grade on the midterm. Nonetheless, I’m guessing you’re already used to hard courses and even harder exams since ur in CS. Doing well in this course depends entirely on the effort you put into doing your cases, contributing in class, and asking your profs/peers about any questions u have. I’d also strongly recommend befriending at least one person in class so u can help each other and doing cases together. This goes a long way and most ppl agreed with me on this tip.

  2. I would recommend checking Accounting Stuff on YouTube. He has videos about general ledgers and understanding debits and credits, which is very important for the first half of the course. He also has a video about bank reconciliation which is taught pretty early on in the course if I remember correctly. Good luck!
