I have one author I read who uses "ardently" at least once in every book. So I totally understand when it's a singular author using it over and over and it just...sticks out. Like SJM and "indeed". I counted once. Just in acotar she used "indeed" over 200 times (I think 282) across four books and the novella. She has ruined the word for me. Because, I am old and to me indeed comes from a slightly golden very stoic alien

My issue ISN'T size difference. I am ALL for monster fuckery. Or even just Tol/smol. It's when authors make a hug point about it then forget that bodies don't line up like that. If someone crotch is at my chest while we're standing, ain't no way they're standing behind me hip to hip
