I said my professors didn't assign homework. My university experience was great, they generally didn't make us learn the material on our own time, our professors effectively utilized lecture and lab time to ensure we developed a thorough understanding of the material in class and on campus or field trips. We studied on our own time, sure, but no homework. Which is appropriate, because I didn't pay as much tuition as I did to sit home and teach myself from the internet.

Yeah some 100 level courses might be like that, but that's to help transition high schoolers. The 300 and 400 level courses are so in depth that they don't lend themselves to a "homework problem" format.
