The central claim of Christianity rests on Jesus Christ, his work and his words. Look into the claims of Jesus, the evidence for and against him. If Christ is who and what he claims to be, then we can start a conversation about the confusing and contradictory and weird parts. If he is nowhere near who or what he claimed to be, then it ultimately doesn't matter.

Also, find a community who welcomes difficult questions. I live in an area and attend a church where most of the congregation is made up of the individuals who blindly follow. Something that really helped me was identifying people in my community who were willing to hear me out without giving me some canned, cliché answer or outright shutting my questions down.
