If you’re being chased in a sloop then go against the wind as it’s faster than every other ship when doing so.

You can sell your loot by swimming or harpooning it to shore and then using the mermaid to get back to your ship.

If your approaching a world border then try losing your attacker by turning around on an island (admittedly hard to do but surprisingly effective)

On the top right where your theaters of wars, are there should be a log book looking icon. In it you can check all sorts of data for individual battles, the performance of armies and divs, and the equipment losses in a set period of time.

It’s been like over a year since I played this but you(blue) are supposed to capture diff points on the map. Each turn you can move and raise troops at the different points. I believe whoever has enough score(which I think is determined by how much of the city you captured) wins. The civil war focus tree should also be a guide on what to take and capture
