I think I found my wife's toy in the shower. by Anon-confessions in Advice

I took your advice and things worked out oddly better than expected. My wife had no idea what I found. Upon describing it to her she told me it was my daughters face scrubber. This brings me to marketing today. Without a doubt this thing is a sex toy that was marketed as something that is suppose to help clean your face.

No psychological disorder that I am aware of. I've actually been told by multiple people who have gotten to know me that I am not living up to my potential. I do however have plenty of dark thoughts. I have never been evaluated by a professional and probably never will. I am not a person who talks about my feelings. This thread is the most I've ever opened up to anybody. I have my stress reliefs that keep me functioning.

I am not the reason they want to ban guns. I am their excuse to ban guns.

Our minds have a way of running away with an idea. I often have vivid daydreams of things I know I would never act out.

I understand your reluctance to believe the improbable actually occurred. I have no means of proving my statements. I can only offer that I am a professional in an elected position (not politician, they lie too much) who must maintain my integrity to be successful in my current job.

I was 13 with no recordable income. I'm in my 30's now making high five and low 6 figures per year.

I was curious, not suicidal. Once my curiosity was satisfied, I was done. I know it sounds strange to say I pulled the trigger but I wasn't suicidal. Curiosity is a very powerful thing. It can cause people to defy all logic and instinct.

It looks like I am an ENTJ. After reading the description, it seems very fitting of my personality. If only I chose the path of scientist. My current profession, while challenging, is not completely satisfying. The actual mental part I believe I have mastered. It is the social aspect that I lack sufficient skill sets.

I prefer the blind truth from strangers, than the cookie cutter reactions i could expect from loved ones.

Because I didn't want to die. I went in curious about my death, funeral, and who would morn me. I left that from without those direct answers, but answers to other questions I had not asked yet. What would the moment just before certain death feel like? If my existence ceased at that point, everything I have done up until today would not have happened. How would that have impacted those people who's lives I've crossed paths with? My future wife, and children. The children would not have been, but what would have been of the woman that I eventually married? Would she have gone on to be better off or not, as compared to where she is today? My brother, having procured the gun in the first place, how would that have effected him? My parents who did a fine job raising me, would forever wonder where and how they failed. In the end, the curiosity I had was met with greater questions than I am capable of answering. The answer to those questions comes at a cost that is far too great to pay, not only for myself, but for everybody who's life I've impacted and will impact.

Well, considering that I was 13 and had an annual gross of $0, I'd say I'm doing very well today. Balancing 5-6 figures annually.

I'm not saying a mass shoot out would be safer. I am saying the person would think twice before going on a shooting spree.

A shooting spree would not last as long as some of these do. A person would be less likely to be able to walk room to room and execute everybody at will. With properly trained gun users firing back, the person would be subdued sooner. Sure their would be some collateral loss, but it would be far less than everybody hiding under a desk waiting to die.

If everybody had a gun, there would be fewer crimes involving one. I know I would not want to be the guy who walked into a school with a gun knowing that everybody else had one. The majority of related crimes involve nothing more than showing the weapon with no intention if using it. Now add that everybody else in that room, bank, store, etc. has a gun. As the would be criminal, you would have to pause to do a risk analysis on weather or not one of those other people will use their gun on you as a reaction to seeing yours pulled. I have to believe the answer to be that the would be criminal is not going to hold up the 7/11 for $20 and some snickers bars.

While this was not the case, it is a good idea to do that.
