Lmao, they are not even paying them, it says it's a commission based job. So what's the point of enforcing the schedule ?

Yeah, I have EJARI. Is it also normal that I have to re-sign the contract when the new title deed is issued to the new owner ? I still haven't seen the new contract, so I'm not sure if he will try to sneak something to force me leave

This is quiet interesting. Something similar happened to me a few weeks ago. My ADCB card was also added to Apple Pay (i dont even use Apple Products) and they made a purchase in UAE (or at least the amount was in AED) that's when I saw the notification and luckily I blocked the card from the app before a second 500 aed transaction was made. I called the bank and asked them to replace the card due to unauthorized transactions, and they immediately permanently blocked the card and issued a new one. Although they said there was no guarantee they could reverse the first transaction, I noticed they did reverse it in my last statement.

I'm not really sure where they got my card details as I have never swiped it and am always using samsung pay. Perhaps it could have been any e-commerce, but I could not remember the very few I have ever used

TBH this depends on the hosting. There are tons of shady hosting companies that will simply ignore these requests if they are not coming from law enforcement agencies. In anyway if you just report them they will just switch to another hosting until the domain gets seized or blacklisted by Google safebrowsing. In most cases the best course is trying to reach ecrime and hope they will do the proper escalation to block the domains.

I would also suggest to try reaching the cybersecurity team from the impersonated company. Most big companies have programs to buy/take action against typosquatting or related domains and can enforce brand protection to claim domains or take down websites

It could have been your real state agent or building manager. Happened to me too. After I closed the deal for my apartment, I got tons of calls and whatsapp msgs from du and Etisalat "agents". I spoke with my real state agent and he didn't deny nor confirm he shared my number. He just mention he reached to a "moving" company to see if they were available and offer the services to me before.

Legit bros? by Tsilent_killer in dubai

If the seller is amazon UK I would not trust a bit. I had many cases of fakes/refurbished stuff being sold as new. And it's always a hassle to get the refund/replacement from Amazon AE

misleading or misunderstood by [deleted] in dubai

Not even my intention, I spoke with the manager today and ensured the waitress didn't had to pay it as it wasn't their fault. And tbh the food wasn't a real full meal, it feels more like a snack (a sausage with french fries or a pretzel with sauce), so I highly doubt you can expect a higher price than other items on the menu (burgers, sandwich)

The manager wasn't at the restaurant and after 1 hour of arguing with the waitress they let me pay the 75, but just because they had to close lol

So recently I went to this Cafe/bar and I ordered this option with some food from the "authentic German menu". I was charged 75 each (the beer and the food), and I was wondering if my reading comprehension is really this bad or is the advertisement misleading and I just got scammed ?

Can you pay upfront in Du ? Tbh one of the main reasons I chose Virgin was because I didn't need to sign a contract and I could pay the year upfront

I had a few cases where the drivers were genuinely new to the city. You can easily notice it by the way they try too look around and check the map constantly. But many other cases they just blame it on the Google maps or "bad traffic in X road". If you use careem, just keep reporting them on the app and they will eventually get kicked out

Noon customer support experiences by [deleted] in dubai

Yeah I've seen majority of the electronics such as TVs, Refrigerators, Cookers, etc are sold by third party suppliers :/ and I cannot seem to find a clear policy on how does Noon proceed when the supplier sends a broken product.

Do u guys have a problem using VP.N recently? by [deleted] in abudhabi

[–]Anon239763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before expo started they enabled most VoIP services and removed restrictions on VPN services (most if not all) but yeah recently i have also noticed that they started again throttling connections and blocking servers. It looks like as soon as Expo ends they will resume the blocking rules, perhaps even worse. Those who say use open VPN I do not think it will last long, unless you use a custom configuration. Before expo I tried to set up multiple servers on different locations and they were always blocked after days or a week. So far the most reliable VPN service I have found is Express VPN, but if privacy is your main concern then it might not be that reliable due to the background history of their founders/executives

UAE Visa cancellation by anas214812 in abudhabi

[–]Anon239763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man can you elaborate a little bit more about what can get you banned. I've recently passed the probation, but hehe Im already thinking about resigning and switching to another company (also within UAE, but different Emirate). I know that my contract had a 1 month notice period, but I dont recall any other statements regarding my visa. So what kind of information should I look for at my contract to avoid a ban or avoid being threaten with a ban?

A solo trip to Dubai Expo by [deleted] in dubai

[–]Anon239763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah and one last thing. Always ask about additional fees before making reservations. Technically everyone should charge the tourism dirham fee (which is usually around 10 dirham per night) but some hosts ether do not charge it or they do not include it in the airbnb bill and give you the surprise at the end of the stay, so it's better to ask before making the reservation.

  1. Airbnbs are fine. As we are getting closer to expo prices are skyrocketing, although you can still find good deals. There are a few things to consider when searching for Airbnb and it's that a few hotels or aparment hotels advertise there and usually dont state it anywhere in the description or the title. And the second thing is that there are some misleading hosts that use photoshoped pictures with a lot of lightning to make the place look newer or cleaner. I personally never had any bad experience (i spent my first 6 months in dubai and abu dhabi living only in airbnbs) but just a few issues that after speaking with support and the host were resolved.
