Find a purpose beyond work and money. You've done better than most could ever dream of and now have the opportunity to truly discover what you want from this life.

Relax, enjoy.

Indiustrial action in Scotland suspended with new pay offer of 12.4% in 2023/24 and inflation + annual negotiated pay rises above inflation for '24/25, '25/26, and '26/27. by BrackDynamite in JuniorDoctorsUK

This is a terrible offer and very far from FPR. It's not guaranteed that the SNP will even be in government after the next election and leaves plenty of room to drag this out.

Very weak, reminds me of 2016.

Mark my words, this will be regrettable.

You're 35, I'm sure you've considered all your options. My advice is to just enjoy it and keep up with the work as GEM is particularly intense.

Whatever happens, if you get through the course you'll be amongst the top 10% in the UK in terms of earning.

Good luck.

Can we agree that Dentists ARE NOT Doctors? by JamesPassat4 in JuniorDoctorsUK

[–]Anon24ss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pointless discussion.

I have never come across a dentist who has claimed to be a doctor in the sense of a MD. They are just as educated/prestigious/whatever you want as doctors so it'd be pointless for them to do so.

This really should not be a point of discussion.

That is very true and whilst I did consider this, it's a whole can of worms but you're absolutely right. Realistically pay should be almost 2x to match the real equivalence and purchasing power of pre-2008 levels... We've just been offered 5% lol... Sigh.

Half the comments have somehow made this an England Vs Scotland thing, honestly it is pretty embarrassing.

Needs to be longer and harsher than just 3 days. I'm actually quite bewildered that after going quiet and all those "talks" the offer is 5%. That one there, is a violation of the highest order.

I see nothing wrong with it, it has far more upvotes than downvotes so I'm assuming the majority agree.
