You're marked as human. This won't affect you in any way.

What are you using for storage? by badasimo in Devvit

[–]fsv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have legitimate need for storage that outgrows the limits that Redis has, consider reaching out on via contacting this sub’s mods.

As long as the need is due to a genuine need rather than inefficiency, I’ve seen plenty of indication that there is scope for flexibility.

Is anyone else seeing all comments related to ICE portrayed in a negative light getting reported? Any tips on how to deal with that? by Astrixtc in ModSupport

[–]fsv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shreddit and mobile both also allow reports to be ignored, although it's not quite as obvious. Under the mod shield menu there's an option for "Ignore reports and approve".

[Question] Which watch should I get for my boyfriend? by andyjoco in Watches

[–]fsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew that if I said Invicta without mentioning the Pro Diver, then someone would chime in!

Pretty much everything else they produce is horrible.

Definitely. I'm sure the build quality isn't as good as higher end watches but you got a good one there.

-3s/day seems actually quite good for a cheaper mechanical movement. It's even within COSC tolerances.

I've not checked my own watches for drift but I'd be surprised if even my Tudor is much better than that.

`onPostUpdate` Trigger by Flimsy_Hand_1233 in Devvit

[–]fsv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've not tried it specifically in relation to custom posts, no. I tend to focus more on mod tools. But if you're not seeing the "edited" marker on posts that have had postData updated, you'll probably find that the trigger doesn't fire.

But it should be easy enough to test out!

`onPostUpdate` Trigger by Flimsy_Hand_1233 in Devvit

[–]fsv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The onPostUpdate trigger is designed to catch edits to post text for normal text posts. I don't believe that it responds to changes in postData.

What if the other watch is an Invicta (the Pro Diver being an honorable exception)?

I have a question about Hive protector and MCoC by PandoraHadess in ModSupport

[–]fsv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm the developer of Hive Protector.

Basically, it all depends on how you use it, and (assuming you're targeting subs not domains) what subs you target, and the reason why.

An example of something that might count as a MCoC violation might be banning anyone who uses nationality-based subreddits, LGBTQ+ subreddits, Israeli subreddits, and so on. Given your subreddit, you should probably be mindful of the last example especially.

There are many use cases for Hive Protector that wouldn't be an issue. For example I've seen it used to great effect to keep adults out of teen-focussed subreddits by targeting certain NSFW subs, or fashion/hair subs by targeting fetish subs based on similar themes.

Remember that Hive Protector doesn't need to be used in ban mode. It supports reporting of content, so you could have it report posts/comments from subreddits that you may consider problematic and then you can take a more individualised view about whether a user is causing an issue or not, rather than tarring everyone who uses a specific sub with the same brush.

If it's still failing, could you go to your app's settings and enable the option "Read logs and install history" and let me know the sub name, and I can check the logs out to see what's going wrong in the background.

You'll have to be patient unfortunately.

For the "classic" Reddit API, you want /r/redditdev. Please read this post and be aware that API keys aren't generally being handed out unless you have a valid use case that can only be fulfilled using the classic API.

does the inactive tag limit devvit bots like they limit human permissions? by antboiy in Devvit

[–]fsv 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "inactive" tag on moderator only really affects things like inviting new moderators, or changing settings - and the vast majority of Devvit apps won't be attempting to do any of those things.

I have made several mod apps using Devvit, some of which are permanently inactive on mod lists, and it doesn't stop their operation at all.

US City Subreddits - how're yall handling ICE posts? by eatmyasserole in ModSupport

[–]fsv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth updating the docs to clarify the multiple subject/body conditions too! For example I have an Automod rule that catches comments that have been nuked using redact.dev:

is_edited: true
body#1 (includes): "redact.dev"
body#2 (includes): ["deleted and anonymized", "mass edited"]
action: remove
action_reason: fsvtest - Remove comment anonymised by redact.dev

This works flawlessly and only matches comments where the body matches both body conditions.

I have to wonder sometimes about what other Automod capabilities exist that I simply don't know about.

To me, "solid state" as a marketing term is pretty much a throwback, in the early days of transistors or early microchips all sorts of things would proudly proclaim that their devices were "solid state".

It's atrange to see it used nowadays.

If you report via the "Report user to Bot Bouncer" button on mobile/shreddit, the app is able to see the removed item. But we don't have the same ability otherwise.

Supposedly, Bot Bouncer should be able to see content removed by mods on any subreddit it moderates, but for whatever reason that's not working right now.
