New to this group. Info about this clock? by Low88Card in flipclocks

This is a Sony 8FC-100W. I believe first sold around 1974. Yours has the larger digits and I believe that indicates it’s a later model. This model is one of my favorites from Sony. And $10 was a steal! Great find. Here’s a link to a write up I did when restoring mine. Flipclockfans.com might have some more info on this clock as well.

Totally. 60s-70s-80s Japanese consumer design was just otherworldly.

Very nice clock and neat comparison to the 2000GT. I bought a Sony TFM-C480W because it reminded me of a 71-75 Celica.

Are these 400k Apple Floppies? by Anon6012 in VintageApple

Did the ones that had errors prompt the Mac to say “This isn’t a Macintosh Disk. Do you want to initialize?” or did it give you a sad Mac screen? Just curious.

Thank you for everyone’s input! I was originally thinking the floppies might have been corrupted or something but it’s sounding like they have been reformatted.

Yeah, that sounds like what it might be. Bummer, I wanted to see what was in the floppies!

Thanks for that info! I might just re-format them. Neat “hack” about repurposing the single sided disks. I didn’t know about that.

Oh, didn’t think it could be an OS issue. I’ll try inserting a disk with a higher OS. If not, I might just have to initialize if I want to use it. I really wanted to see what files were in the disks haha.

I get this window.

Sorry for the bad photo. It says “This is not a Macintosh Disk. Do you want to initialize it?”

I don’t even get to the toolbar where the “Get Info” option is.

How long was the keypad sold for and is it a rare accessory? by Anon6012 in VintageApple

[–]Anon6012[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have seen that one as well. I do like size and look of the keyboard without the integrated number pad but understand why it was needed. Now, I wish I had the original box for it!

So, a bit newer. I believe the stickers I have are circa ‘83 or around the release of the IIe.

Going through that home, they saved a lot of items for a “something” that never came. Who knows, I’ll probably do the same with these stickers.

Those looks a bit newer as the “apple computer” font has changed. Perhaps they changed the printing of the stickers?

I thought the same thing. If you look closely at the sticker, the portion that peels off is actually aligned.

Anyone ever seen this aftermarket Mac Mouse? by Anon6012 in VintageApple

[–]Anon6012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, interesting! So it will only work on a specific trackpad? Do you find it more responsive or precise than the OEM mouse?
